A child's death or a child who is missing is one of the most devastating things a parent has to face. It isn't supposed to be like this! There are so many emotions and you feel like you are alone. Parents of our brave soldiers, who have lost a child in the military can also find our place. Here we support each other, we get together....and talk....and listen.

LET THE SUN SHINE!

Today we are all going to embark on allowing the sun to constantly shine through us. Allowing our smiles to become radiant once more so that our children could see us smiling. Take hold of each others' hand and help each other step across that threshold. To our fellow parent who are young in the days of grieve take our hand, we cry with you and would lead you to drink of the waters of joy that flow through our remarkable, unforgettable sons and daughters.

Don't be afraid to let us know when you are crying alone, when the moment overwhelms you, when you can't understand why such an unimaginable thing should happen to you. We are still here, we still know, we still feel. When you want to smile, don't be guilty, your son or daughter smiles too!

For Single parents

How do feel about dating? And if you do date, did you feel guilty about it, the first time? Did your friend understand your wanting to talk about your son or daughter most of the time? Or did you change the conversation when he or she asked questions?

Hello

Today was a hard day. I found out that people I have known for years reached out to me because they have been down this road. A great gentlemen I have known for years told me today that he lost his son 12 years ago. The women who gave my daughter a ride to school lost her son 2 years ago and a women from church called to talk to me because she lost her son only 7 months ago. This is crazy, as mom's how do we stop this? I don't want anyone else to join us. I go to work just to get out of bed but when I am there all I do is log on to this page and cry while I read the poems over and over. At times I feel like I am going crazy because I tell myself that Kyrstin is not coming home...

How do you feel about this?

We are all grieving and healing. I wondered if we should digress a little and talk about everyday happenings, try some games, politics, school, nursing tell some happy events or whatever else we can think of to brighten our day.

What are your thoughts?
