NO POLYESTER!

50's, 60's. 70's and...? Not ready for grey hair, pastel polyester pantsuits, brown sandals, mumu's? Let's share age-appropiate tips on how to look our best. Hair, makeup, updated fashion trends, skin care, Botox, plastic surgery, etc. Let's chat.

Suggestions?

Hi everyone.
I'm looking for suggestions of stores with the best clothing styles for a size 14 boomer. I have always loved fashion and clothing. But the new baby doll and baring styles look rediculous. I'm not a Talbot's type, and have had most success at Kohl's. Any ideas?

Have you noticed??

When you go to shop for clothes, the stores even have teen fashion or old lady fashions. I am a plus size woman, and can never find fashionable, age appropriate casual clothes. Anyone else have that problem?

Attention fashion lovers!!!!!

I am conductiong a research about fashion and I need your help!!!

Do you love fashion but feel like retailers and designers do not understand your needs? Do you find yourself thinking “I do not want to look like a grandmother, but I am too old for many of the fashions that I see”? Would you like to voice your opinions about fashion?

If you said yes to any of these questions please click onto the website listed below and take this survey!

Your comments will be used to help retailers and apparel manufactures better understand the fashion needs and opinions of women over 50. The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and your responses are anonymous and your identity will not be revealed nor will you be contacted by the researchers regarding your input.

Thank you for your help and I look forward to hearing from you. If you have questions about the survey or if you like to receive a copy of the results please e-mail me (Thomasj@winthrop.edu)

Where is everyone ? New group....

Hi everyone. There haven't been any messages in here in many months and most of you haven't even visited in more than 7 months.

I opened a new group for fashions for women view link and those of you who want to discuss clothes are welcome over there.

Thanks.

I'm a newbie, too!

This looks like such an interesting group. I have already found common ground with some of you in reading the posts. I'm 54, and I had gastric bypass 4 years ago and have felt wonderful since. Although I'm very happy with my choice, I took some pictures the other day and couldn't help but notice the wrinkles that have appeared out of nowhere!!! Where did they come from??? I swear an alien abducted my face! Seriously, looking forward to tips and tricks...help...the wrinkles are taking over!

Dressing our age

This problem comes on both ends of the age scale. My daughter, 5'2" at 9 years old can't find age appropriate clothes. I search high and low and when I occasionally find something I buy several.

Rarely does something catch my eye as quickly as a woman our age dressing in the style that should be reserved for 30 year olds.

I have an online store, view link that specializes in fashions for older women of all sizes small to 3x with a few things to 5x. They have stretchy fabric, elastic waists that aren't noticeable, tops that do not get tucked in and sleeves with lots of room (if you know what I mean !!) My husband started the business with his late wife to specialize in cruisewear but it is broader than that.

We don't list by tops and bottoms as much as by specific brands. Our customers come to us looking for a brand that they have in their closet and have loved for years. For this reason, they usually buy a bunch every few years too just in case.

They are a little more than Kohl's or Mervyn's but they last forever !
