Careening Down the Highway of Life
Formerly TREASURED MEMORIES.
We have virtual road rallies, treasure hunts in foreign lands,
and generally talk about life's surprises and mishaps! This is
a friendly bunch and we don't do politics, conflict, sniping or
any of that nasty stuff. Just fun stuff and some wild virtual
adventures!

Let's see a show while we're in NYC
Astroland first
Coney Island
Wow, what a busy day we had at Central Park yesterday. And wasn't the food at Tavern on the Green just wonderful?
Tomorrow, we are going to head to Coney Island. There's Astroland, home of the famous Cyclone, The New York Aquarium and Nathan's Famous hot dogs. It will take us about 45 minutes to get there from Manhattan on the train. Astroland is going to officially close at the end of the season this year so if we don't get there on this trip, we will never have a chance.
Between about 1880 and World War II, Coney Island was the largest amusement area in the United States, attracting several million visitors per year. At its height it contained three competing major amusement parks, Luna Park, Dreamland, and Steeplechase Park, as well as many independent amusements.
Today the major parks are Astroland, Deno's Wonder Wheel Amusement Park (a successful family owned park with over 20 rides located directly on the Boardwalk), 12th Street Amusements, and Kiddie Park. Also, the Eldorado arcade has its own indoor bumper car ride.

Let's Eat!
Shall we eat at Tavern on the Green? It is right here in Central Park so we won't have to go far. And we won all that money in the Cash Cab......
The legendary Tavern on the Green’s fantasy-like garden is open June through September as New York’s only outdoor nightclub. Overlooking Central Park, the lantern-laden, flower bedecked Tavern Garden, guests can dance the summer away and enjoy top deejays, dancing, and nightly drink specials. Each night’s variously themed festivities.Dinner guests wishing to dine à la carte in the garden may do so with no cover charge (seating is available on a first come- first served basis) the only exception being Band Night evening when guests can swing to tunes from a live band. Tavern's garden is also the host to New York city’s largest outdoor bar - stocked with 28 different vodkas, 12 tequilas, a global collection of beers, 21 single malts and an impressive wine list.

Day is done
Balloon Ride
Cash Cab
OMG!! I can't believe it! I hailed a cab to take us to Central Park and guess what?! I got the Cash Cab! So all we have to do is answer the questions without getting 3 strikes and we get money for each correct answer. I'm sure, with all of us working at this, we can get the answers. Just think, we can finance our trip!
Let the sight-seeing begin!
