My Favorite John Denver Song ...
My Favorite John Denver Song is one that many people don´t even know was one of his. It was made popular by Peter, Paul, & Mary --- Yes, you got it "Leavin´ on a Jet Plane".
I didn´t ever have the pleasure of meeting John Denver, or even seeing him perform live. I learned that he was a singer with "Sing Along With Mitch" (Mitch Miller) - and that at one of his concerts the P. A. (Public Address) system failed, but he kept singing and performing. I met a person who said that they were sitting near the back most seats in the entire place (which was huge), and he said that he could hear John´s voice very clearly and distinctly. After hearing that story I listened more carefully to the power in the voice, and .... WOW !!! Gentle, but very powerful !!!
His lyrics, his music, and his life were cut all too short!

Sooooo..... I am asking everyone, AT 10:00 AM and PM (EST) to whistle, wherever you are, the song I think everyone should know..... "You Are My Sunshine" !!!!
Now, if you think you can't whistle... please hum... but I know the "vibes" will reach her as we are thinking of her!!!

I met John
I met John Denver over 30 years ago after one of his concerts. He invited people in the audience to join him at a bar for a drink. I was the only person to show and we had a couple of beers. He was very nice and quite charming and down to earth. While I never met him again, I saw him in concert 4 more times and treasure the memories of this talented man.
I miss him and his music. He can never be replaced.
