Weekend plans

Guess I'm not making plans other than a nice grilled steak and corn. We will be staying here, the 100 plus degree temperatures here in CA curtail a lot of activity (gas prices, too).My mother in Iowa tells me they need rain, says its sticky and hot there as well. My brother who lives on Okoboji says he's looking forward to some boat rides.
I think I'm going to just sit back and vegitate. ZZZZZ-ZZZZZZ

BIG Weekend Ahead..

What's everyone doing this weekend? We are thinking about going to the Grape Festival in Nauvoo, Illinois or a motorcycle rally in Conesville, IA.

The past ten days have been devoted to my family reunion so I hope I am able to manage my time wisely now and do justice to all of my groups.

Rain, we finally got some, it was very dusty here and the grass went dormant which was okay with me because I did not need to cut it! ;-)

Friday - Hot and sticky today

What a Friday - 93 degrees - it's hot, it's sticky here in SW Iowa. I just love Iowa weather - hahaha!

Anyone have any big plans for the weekend? I'm going out for Chinese Buffet this evening with family & friends, working Saturday morning & who knows what else I'll do over the weekend.

Back to School!

School starts today for kids here, when does it start for the children in your town?
They only go a half a day because of heat - we never got the heat or snow days kids get now.
Do you have any fond memories of school?
Does back to school still have any effect on you? It means more traffic for me because I work across the street from the high school.

Family Reunion

Tomorrow I have family from Austin,TX and from Maryland visiting for the next 8 days for a family reunion here in Dubuque. Will try to pop in here a few times during that period.

Hi everyone. Believe it or not, but it is a growing dream for me and my husband to move to Sioux City, Iowa. He use to live there and I've visited several times. It reminds me of Austin waaay-back when (meaning, less people, crowding and traffic). We'll know more in about 3 years - when I'm able to retire. Take care. - carol4625
