Congratulation Is In Order
Congratulations to the Detroit Redwings for winning Lord Stanley's cup, and also to the Pittsburg Penguins who put up a great battle for the cup. After watching the final game between these two great teams, I thought about how hard these guys work! They would certainly have to LOVE the game to put themselves throught this. . . and the season is so long.
Detroit Red Wings
The Wings have amazed me throughout this whole season with how well they play as a team. I honestly must say that this is the best Redwings team ever! Their games in some cases almost seem effortless. I thought that the Penguins would be more of a challenge to them and still can't believe the scores in their first two games. But this series isn't over yet. Pittsburg will have the home ice advantage the next two games and that could make the difference. We'll just have to see.
GO WINGS!

NY Ranger fan in Quincy,MA
I live in Quincy,MA and I got noticed today with a Rangers t-shirt on when I went to a Walgreens to pick-up my prescription. Are ther any Rangers fans out there?
Stanley Cup Finals
Penquins vs Wings
Experience vs not much experience
The prevailing view is that the west is a better conference, therefore Detroit should be the better team.
Neither team has had to work hard to get to the finals.
Penquins walked through Ottawa, Flyers were missing lots of people and New York blew it, in the first game and couldn't do anything after that, although they tried.
Detroit - fiddled around with Nashville, waltzed through Colorado and worked a little bit with Dallas.
Last year, everyone thought Ottawa was good as they had had no problems getting to the finals, but once there, it was no contest.
The Penquins have some exceptional talent in Crosby, Malkin and Hossa, but Datsyuk, Zetterburg and Lidstrom are really good too.
I am hoping for 7 games.

The Stanley Cup Finals
At the moment, it looks like it will be Detroit and Pittsburg in the Finals. I don't think that the Flyers or Stars can make up their losses.
Redwings Take Their Series
Redwings got the win over the Preds. Congrats to them. Here's hoping that they go all the way.
GO WINGS!!

Habs out
Well, it is a sad day here, but there is always next year.
Who to cheer for now is the question, will have to mourn the Habs loss for a little while.
Today - for the Americans we have a 2 PM game of Pens vs Rangers. I don't think hockey should be played at 2 PM, on a Sunday, it should be golf or baseball or football, but not hockey.
I expect that Pittsburgh will end the Rangers hopes today.
Later its Dallas trying to get back on track vs San Jose. I think Dallas will be ready for tonight, so long as the video replay refs don't interfere again.
