A Taste of France

Guadeloupe is a center for Francophone culture in the Caribbean. But unlike the French Caribbean island of Haiti, Guadeloupe is not subject to social and political unrest; and compared to the more modern and metropolitan Martinique, Guadeloupe is more in touch with its Caribbean roots.

This Caribbean archipelago consists of nine islands, all of which are inhabited. The main islands are Grande-Terre and Basse-Terre, which are divided by a narrow channel called the Rivire Sale. Smaller islands provide a glimpse into the culture of the West Indies, but Grande-Terre and Basse-Terre provide the best tourist resources

Island Quiz

Can anyone guess what island is nicknamed "Heart of the Caribbean."
There is one person here who better get this right or they won't get one of those great Eons gifts as a prize

Hopetown, Bahamas

I was asked where Hopetown was. You fly to the Abacos to Marsh Harbour. Hopetown is part of Elbow Cay. At Marsh Harbour you take about a twenty minute ferry ride to Hopetown. I've lived or worked in Hawaii, Bermuda, Grand Cayman and Cancun and this is my favorite place of all!

Second Most Active Travel Group

Tropic is still the No 2 most active travel group. Makes me wonder how such a thing is possible but I saw it with my own eyes.

Hi Friends,
This looks like a fun group that shares something special. If you've ever traveled or lived on an island, there is always something that calls you back.
I have lived on Oahu in Hawaii,Seven Mile Beach in Grand Cayman, and traveled the to Bermuda the Bahamas. I have to say that my favorite is Hopetown, Bahamas. Have you been there?
