Face it ya'll, if you live in Georgia you know about heat, humidity and what "over yonder" means so share your day with us. This group was created under the eons original Terms of Use, at that time, a site for senior citizens. Members prefer it to remain a senior group. Membership is restricted to ages “50 and over”. No profanity, malicious posts or offensive photos.

Remember . . .

Remember the "Golden Rule" ~ Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Georgia Friends observes the Eons Posting Etiquette: It is considered courteous to post just the beginning of the story, noting that the 'rest is on first reply', post, then add the rest of the message, joke or graphic in the reply. This takes up much less screen space and also doesn't slow down the screen. I know this one is difficult but we need to observe this rule.

If you have a complaint about something or someone, contact the group manager or one of the moderators. Don't try to handle it yourself. We want everyone to be nice and friendly. If a message of a serious nature is posted, please be respectful of others feelings. When it is a joke, please don't take it personally.

Please feel free to post your pictures and comment on those posted. The same rule regarding messages applies to photo comments . . . be nice.

Happy 4th y'all

Lot's going on this weekend. The word is out that Gwinnett Mall still is the favorite for fire works. Park at the old Walwart and you can have a tailgate picnic and the fireworks will be right over your head!
Or, Lenox is still the biggest....if you like crowds.
This year we are going to check out Chatau Elan in Brasselton. Early in the day, downtown will have live music and booths and then, open to the public at Chatau Elan is fire works. Spend the night there or across the street at the Holiday Inn Express?
Found a patriotic drink for those of us that do drink?

Red, White & Blue Shooters
1 part peach schnapps
1 part blue curacao
1 part grenadine

In a shot glass, pour ingredients in layers and do not mix. 1st grenadine, then peach schnapps, ending with the blue curacao.
Enjoy your weekend! PM&

Happy Holiday!

I hope all you guys are having a great 4th! I have plans all day! I'm taking a wonderful crab dip and fruit bowl to my friend's "Pigout" this afternoon. There is a concert and fireworks at the beach this evening and I'm going for the first time in a couple of years. It should be fun!

My Country , 'tis of thee

My country,' tis of thee,
sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing;
land where my fathers died,
land of the pilgrims' pride,
from every mountainside let freedom ring!

My native country, thee,
land of the noble free, thy name I love;
I love thy rocks and rills,
thy woods and templed hills;
my heart with rapture thrills, like that above.

Let music swell the breeze,
and ring from all the trees sweet freedom's song;
let mortal tongues awake;
let all that breathe partake;
let rocks their silence break, the sound prolong.

Our fathers' God, to thee,
author of liberty, to thee we sing;
long may our land be bright
with freedom's holy light;
protect us by thy might, great God, our King.

My Granddog Isabelle...

Granddog Isabelle

This is a picture of my son's dog, Isabelle. She was a little over 5 years old and has been through a lot in her "young" life. She had surgery on both of her back legs, had seizures and medication to control them that led to a lot of weight gain, and last she had bladder stones. The vet doubted that she could survive surgery to remove the stones. My son made the hardest decision of his life today to have her put to sleep. I'm gonna miss that sweet "bear-faced" chow-mix! She was such a great dog!

What every Georgian Understands

Sometimes you have to switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day.
100 degrees Fahrenheit is "a little warm"
We have four seasons: Almost Summer, Summer, still Summer and Christmas
A cool snap(below 70 degrees) is good pinto-bean weather.
hot

EVERYONE can't be a Georgian, it takes talent.
Have a safe holiday weekend, everbody!
