Speaking of Walmart.........
Sometimes Walmart is referred to as "the evil store". There's been talk and documentaries about how they treat their employees, especially the ones overseas. I had a cousin, however, who was pleased and said she wanted continue working with the company. I was going to stop shopping there. Then I heard good things that they've done as well. My husband says all retailers have employee issues anyway. I still shop there on occasion because I find things there at a much more reasonable price and some items I can't find anyplace else.
Well now I found out that Walmart fills 30 day prescriptions (Rx) for $4 and 90 day prescriptions for $10. I feel that is a huge help for those who are seniors, low wage earners and/or uninsured and can't afford the high cost of medicines. I know so many people in that situation right now. Even though I have a good insurance plan with RX benefit, they won't approve my Rx for Aciphex to cure the acid reflux. It also heals the damage caused. I was told to try an OTC remedy which did not work as well. It would be $400 plus to fill this Rx out of pocket. I'm going to see if Walmart will fill it.

18 Ways To Beat Inflation from CNN Money
ay attention now! :-D And I'll add 19 & 20
19. Shop at Walmart (yeah the "evil" store) for food as well. Their canned goods and snacks prices beat many of the supermarket sale prices I see. Their Weight Watchers entrees are almost $1 cheaper per box. In fact, there was an additional article, that you may be able to access from following all the links in the article below, about how Walmart is helping folks beat inflation.
20. Shop thrift shops for clothing and household items. Yesterday I got a pair of well made summer pants and top quality T-shirt both for $7. The thrift shops that I go to now require clothes to be cleaned before accepting.

Top Three
What are your top three ways to save money? It can be on anything--gas, groceries, utilities, entertainment, whatever you like.
Mine would have to be:
1. Change Jar--my favorite way to save money totally painlessly. And use the money once a year for something special just for me.
2. Entertainment Book and/or restaurant.com to save on meals out or movies
3. Ceiling Fans--best way to keep cool. They are quiet and not in the way.

Love my crockpot
I love my crockpot. Just knowing dinner is cooking away while I'm at work is such a relief. It saves me from going to a fast food place because I'm too tired to cook. Healthier food, convenient, doesn't heat up the kitchen like the stove. I put boneless ribs and BBQ sauce in and have a yummy dinner. Anybody want to share their favorite crockpot recipe?
America's Second Harvest
If you need help with grocercies, just google "America's Second Harvest" and add your zip code.
You will find available resources in your area.
One program available in our state is a purchase plan of "shares" that are priced at $18.00 each. I just ordered 2 shares, and it provides meat and (fresh)vegetables for about 2 weeks or more. I'll let you know what we end up with as the pickup is once a month. You can also volunteer to help put together the packages -- 3 hours a month.
If you have access to your local "large" flea market, we have a distributor selling retail fruits and fresh veggies at approximately 30% off.

Attention Beware of Phishing Scams!
Looks like another wave of phishing bots has hit Eon's fair shores.
Be very suspicious of any very much younger person contacting you to be 'friends', and asking for your IM contact information or email address so they can send you pictures.
A phishing bot is a computer program set up to troll social networking sites and act like a real person, sets up a profile page, and then starts making contacts. This program wants access to your computer so it can dig out your personal information like bank account numbers, credit card numbers, passwords, etc. for means of identify theft.
There also seems to be another version in the guise of a 70-year old woman wanting to be friends and asking for your telephone number so you two can talk in person.
If you receive anything out of the ordinary like this, please report it to the Eons Help Desk, or PM CommunityGal directly and report it, so Eons can once again clean out the crud.
