Transportation of the Future
ok...this is a post for those of us that have very vivid dreams that have details that we can recall upon awakening.
Lately, I have been having dreams of a type of future transportation. I am not going to say what it is, because I don't want to influence anyone.
My question is...are there others that dream of future ways of transportation? Specifically, individual transportation? Alternative means of energy not discovered yet?
Wouldn't it be interesting if several of us have had the same basic type of dream? It would be perhaps a selective unconscious experience.
Now if only someone could come up with a plan so my dishes would wash, dry and put themselves up! Back to the kitchen for me...

What is going on
Going on 7 years. The same people standing on the steps of the Capitol singing God bless America are now trying to tear our country down. We are at war like it or not and will be until we kill all those creeps. Kill them there not here. What is wrong with this country when we are more concerned with the economy than our troops and the terrorist who hate us. Haven.t we learned by now. The founding fathers are probably turning over in their graves.
Veterans and Politics
There have been a few threads started about veterans of the Iraq war speaking out against the war. There have been threads started that deal with our upcoming election. This thread addresses both those issues.
Many Hispanics serve in our military. In our last election many crossed party lines to support Mr. Bush because they believed he was right at one time. Now, having served their country, America, proudly many are against the war and their votes matter. This is an interesting link.

Now We Start To Plan?
For so many years I have wondered why we, as a country, were not planning for the future where energy is concerned. I hear folks saying drill for oil but it won’t help our country at all. Prices don’t go down…prices stay the same or rise. The only way our economy is going to change radically is if we have a full blown recession, or worse, a depression. No American wanting to drill for oil will be happier if we drilled.
Americans have succumbed to an “I want it now!” society. That is the main reason prices are high, folks are overweight from all the “fast food” they eat and people in other countries look at us with disdain. Too many Americans believe we are entitled to things simply because we are Americans. That is a load of garbage. We are not entitled to oil any more than any other country. We are just the country with the most smug, most self serving gluttons in the world.
Here is a very rich oil man by the name of T. Boone Pickens who knows what I say is the truth. He knew the truth decades ago but because Americans let him he kept pumping oil and took advantage of our greed and refusal to build a future for our country free of dependence on oil. Now, he is ready to gamble billions of his dollars on an enterprise to ensure his children continue to make a fortune off our need and greed.

This should have been done decades ago but Americans like oil power. There is technology available now to give us battery powered cars that will make us free of our dependence on oil but Americans want to drill. Americans like it now and they like it powered by oil.
Some day our grandkids will be paying hundreds of dollars a month for wind.

This week our senators will be voting to extend a provision of the FOREIGN Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) that has allowed NSA to, without warrant, tap private citizens' phone lines -- which it has been doing wholesale -- by the tens of thousands.
Congress has been asked to grant immunity to the telephone companies who have already knowingly violated private citizens' 4th Amendment Constitutional rights to date.
It is important that your state senators hear from you -- how you feel on this bill. And hear from you TODAY!
The largest subgroup of Candidate Barack Obama's web site is those who oppose any further violation of our rights via extending this FISA bill. Your senator's phone numbers are on that site as well as links to call them.
If you feel it is important to preserve our rights under the 4th amendment to be safe from unwarranted intrusion into our privacy and lives, then it behooves each one of us to make our voices heard.

I have noticed that some of us refer to others by our real names in our posts, not our Eons name. (Assuming they are different, I think some are not) I'm just wondering how others feel about that.
For me, those that I am linked to as friends know my everyday, walking around name, but I like to be "Wynd" in groups. Is this covered under any kind of online ettiquette any of y'all have ever heard of, either on Eons or anywhere else?
(I obviously don't have enough to do today to keep my brain occupied, ha!)

More info on toxic trailers
We discussed this a little bit a few weeks ago, but here is something I didn't think of.

FEMA says they will use the trailers again if needed, because according to Mike Miller of FEMA, "they are cool, dry, clean place for a family to live until they can get established". (Cool? In the broiling sun of the south?) But they are unwilling to sell any of them to any private individual that wants them because of the health risks posed by formaldehyde. How can they be safe for victims of a catastrophe if it isn't safe to sell them to private individuals?
At such a high price tag per year for storage (which I totally don't understand the reasons for unless it's just more waste by the government) I hope someone comes up with a solution for the trailers, and for the people close to the storage sites soon.

Soldiers Against the War in Iraq
I have said that I am against using the troops to make a political point. I still do. So this is not about politics, this is about people against the war.
Those of us who say nay to this war are called Liberal Democrates, Cowards, Anti-American, Anti-Bush.
There are members of the Armed forces against the war in Iraq. Are they Democrates? Are they Liberals? Are they Cowards? Are they Anti-Bush? Are they Anti-American?
