Keys Fishing
Having grown up in Key Largo,I have spent my whole life fishing, and getting around with my friends via boats. I use to make a living fishing, lobsters, etc. ...had a bad experience after Hurricane Andrew, almost died by hanging, as we went under a bridge , and there was a rope hanging down, that we did not see. I have caught just about every kind of salt water fish that swims down in the Keys. I enjoyed working on the water, but things have changed down there., so now I live up north, in Lake City, Fl. I still go fishing, usually over to Horseshoe, or sometimes , head over to Jax....
Fish 4 Fun
I love to striper fish I live on Lake Hamolton in Arkansas.
Fish is great about 1/4 mile from my house so I don't have to go far. I and catch striper weighting fom 4 pounds to 50 + pounds. Had one pull a 28ft pontoon boat up stream only had a small net and couldn't get him in the boat. Hung several I couldn't get in by myself.
I f I can post pictures in here I will show you some big fish.
Have a good day fishing.

fishing
I love fishing as does my wife, but it seams that since we retired we have not been able to do it, fishing that is. If anyone has any suggestions on how to handle a daughter& her two kids living with you & being able to get away to fish please help. They love to go too, but I can not handle taking care of my wife (who has a very bad back) & them too.
Worms freak me out!
Hi everyone! I am a newbee to fishing, fresh water only so far. I have only fished in Pennsylvania (my home state) when visiting my best friend, Theresa. She puts the worms on the line for me because they do freak me out. I would love to find a fishing buddy here in Connecticut. Someone who can handle the worms for me too. I LOVE fishing, it is so relaxing for me and the scenery is so beautiful and peaceful. Thats all for now - happy trails, Lisa
Canada Fishing
I'm interested in obtaining information for fishing in Canada, prefer near the Great Lakes, info on Cabins, Location, Cost Etc...
First trip to the lake
Every Spring it's the same thing. We think we've got everything ready but when we get to the lake it's a different story.
The battery didn't take a full charge. No motor on the boat except the troller. We just really got into the fishing and power started to decrease. We started heading back to the boat ramp, it was a pretty good distance away. The wind was blowing and we had to go into it, of course. We ending up drifting. At least we were headed in the right direction. We decided to drop anchors and fish awhile since we were close to the ramp and the wind was in our favor. I put the stern anchor over, down it went no problem. My husband dropped the bow anchor over and snap, the rope broke. So, there we sat, spinning round and round in the wind trying to fish. We finally gave up and drifted on into the bank. Hubby got out and went to get the truck and I was going to use what little power we had to get to the trailor. Well he's gone, traffic jam developed at the ramp and he's stuck in it and I have '0', zip power left. I start pulling the boat along the bank. Did I mention that there wasn't a clear inch between me and the boat ramp, everybody and their brother was fishing from the bank. "Excuse me, pardon me. I'm so sorry." as I work my way up the bank. One gentlemen stopped fishing and helped me keep the nose of the boat off the bank. I get to the ramp about the same time my husband pulls up with the trailor. Now, how to get the boat on the trailer. I had a pair of shorts on under my jeans so I pulled off the jeans and waded into the water. It was cold, tons of algae and trash floating in the water. Just my kind of swimming. Finally, boat on trailor and we're on our way home. Worst of all we had not one fish to show for our troubles. We usually catch and release, but on this day I think I would have kept one just to prove I caught something.
Next trip will be better and I can't wait. Even with all the problems it was better than working.

Gambling
In context with the Deep South and the religious ways I was brought up... I being a fairly new fisherman ...have decided that it is simply "An Acceptable Form Of Gambling":):)
I realized that when my hub kept saying "Let's go in" and I kept saying "just one more time":)

Birthdays
My husband asked me last night what I want for my b-day. It's Saturday, I think. My answer was, "Go fishing." I hope he took me seriously. It's been in the 80's the last few days. Wind is calm and dogwoods are blooming. Crappie are biting, right? If the dogwoods are blooming? I'm ready to test that 'old fisherman's tale'.
more fish
My parents retired in Arkansas. They lived on Beaver Dam. It was my favorite place to go. They had an awesome fishing boat. I would go out on the lake at 5am come back in around lunch, take a nap and go back out until after dark. I loved it. If you've never fished in Arkansas you need to give it a try.
