HELLO FELLOW TUBERS

Been hot and humid here. Keeping in most of the time. Cold front moves through this afternoon with showers then a cool down. Trying to get my stuff together for our two weeks in Washington state with our daughter and her family. Not sure what we are doing just some day trips and shopping, lunch and visiting museums in Seattle. take care all.

Happy 4th (again

We are staying at home doing yard work between showers.

Going to have a fire in the outdoor fire-pit later this evening and roast hot dogs and make somemores.

Later we are going to enjoy the bubbles. I will check on Horst at this time.

Good Holiday to all.

HAPPY HAPPY

Hello, Gang. Let me be the first to wish you all a wonderful Labor Day Weekend, and the 200th(including the bag boy at the grocery store, the pharmecist, the crazy lady down the street, and good old Uncle Earle) to wish you a Happy Fourth of July. May your weekend be safe, sunny and simply splendid.(OK--what literary device did I just use in the previous sentence?) I will leave you with the immortal words of Saturday Night Live's Jack Handy("Deep Thoughts):

"Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and oxygen there would be no way to make water, a vital ingredient in beer."

Who's manning the Hot Tub over the holiday weekend? You all know how horst gets when left unsupervised...

Hello

Welcome to our group Gary -- we are a bit slow in posting in the summer. But will keep bubbles going when you decide to jump in ----.

Skeeter -- hope you get your paper work going and all is well with you soon. Retirement isn't too bad. I quit work about two years ago -- because husband retired. I still wanted to work but decided it was better to be able to do things with him. The accounting/billing department at the law firm I worked for keeps wanting me to come back part time but I think I will stay home since husband has some health problems earlier this year.

Melo - Betsy - Lizz - Annie - glad to hear from you guys. Sounds like your summers are very busy. Come in a join us when you get a chance.

Gosh, what a small world. So many places down here and they are building condos left and right. My sister in laws parents had a place at Isla del Sol so I'm very familiar with it. They recently sold it. Yes, Ft. Desoto is great. Most of FL's state parks are. I have one by me called Honeymoon Island and I usually go every weekend. Prior to me moving to this place, Clearwater Beach was closer. The Tierre Verde area is beautiful. I just recently started going to places in St. Pete Beach. You tend to stay close to the neighborhood you live in. Good luck on finding something.

Hay, Betsy

Thanks, Betsy. We stayed at Isla de Sol at a condo of a friend of ours. About a 20 minute walk over the bridge to St. Pete Beach. We flew into Tampa, but spent all of our time in St. Pete. We loved Fort DeSoto, and the Tierra Verde area. Most of what we looked at was in Isla de Sol-the unit we liked most overlooked a lake on one side and a pool on the other; the 2nd place unit was smaller but overlooked the Intracoastal waterway and had distant views of St. Pete beach. I wish we could move the better condo to the better location. Oh well...

Off to restock the frig and pantry. My son was at the house this weekend and ate all of our food... see you all at the tub later

Oh, you will have to tell me where you were in Tampa/St. Pete. I'm in the Clearwater area. It is unusually hot here for this time of year. It normally doesn't get hot until mid July and August. However, depending on where you were, we get a breeze at all times which helps. Sunday I went to the beach and there was a great breeze off the Gulf. I went to VA a couple weeks ago and felt it was hotter there than here. I guess we have a couple months of HOT, but the winters make up for it. And sometimes they even get cold.
So, are you going to become one of those snowbirds? HAHA. Hope you had a nice trip. You should have told me, I would have recommended some areas for you to go to.

Hi, one and all

Hi, all.
Just back from 4 days in Tampa/St. Pete, looking at condos. Betsy, how do you stand it in Florida at this time of year? The real estate agent kept telling us the heat and humidity we experienced were an abberation for late June--True??

It's pretty hot here in MA, but the humidity is not too bad. Of course, we wouldn't use anything we bought during the summer months in Florida, but I still wonder how all of you Southerners stand the heat!

Skeeter, all my best wishes, always. Mlo, great to read your post. Rkay, great to be out of the classroom. I'll be back later tonight or tomorrow after I unpack and decompress. As usual, please keep horst away from my Amstels.

Olympic Trials

Good grief. I had forgotten they were even on. I've been so busy getting set up in the new house that I haven't had time for TV or anything else. I do have friends coming in from VA on Thursday and we are going to Ft. Lauderdale for a long 4th of July weekend which I'm looking forward to. Going to hunt down all the "Hot Tubs."
