Eons Background Gallery
A place to share "tested" profile backgrounds with Eons members. All backgrounds in the Gallery will be tested to assure that they fill the photo standards in Eons (no frames, no white spaces).

Getting Around in this Group
I've been trying to get the backgrounds into categories grouped in messages. The idea behind this is so as the gallery grows, it would make it easier for you to find a background you may wish to snag. So far we have set up several different categories:
Nature Backgrounds view link
Sea and Sky Backgrounds view link
Flower Backgrounds view link
Animal Backgrounds view link
Blacks and Browns view link
Pastels view link
Greens view link
Blues view link
Please try to use these existing threads when adding to the gallery. We will add more categories as the need arises.
This is a working/service type group and we anticipate that people will be popping in and out of here as they develop an interest in making their profile pages interesting. Greeting messages are not encouraged and will be deleted after one week in order to keep the purpose of this group focused.
The managers will be testing your uploads and resizing them if necessary. Backgrounds that do not tile seamlessly will be deleted from the gallery.
This is a start. We'll be making revisions to this as we go forward. Thank you for your cooperation.

What Kind of Skins Do You Prefer???
I'm just curious. I absolutely love making skins, but I don't want to make skins that nobody would want to use.

New Skins~
Hi Everyone,
Pocohantas, I wanted to let you know I put 2 of the skins I made, the skin I told you I'd let you know when I put it up. "Diamonds & Gold" and then a reverse "Gold & Diamonds".
Then there are 4 others "Beautiful, Powerful Horses", "Teacher's Colorful Apples", "Poodle Skirt" & "I Love Yorkies!" LOL I was on a roll last 2 days.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Wednesday, and I hope you have a great day tomorrow!

"Sea and Sky" Backgrounds
Please post your "sea and sky photo" backgrounds in the photo gallery here and then in a reply to this message. All backgrounds will be tested to insure that they repeat efficiently in the skins.
To use a background in this thread:
Double click on the picture
Right click and go to properties (bottom)
Copy the URL of the picture from the properties screen
Paste the URL on the Page Background line in the skinner
Preview to see if you are happy before saving any changes!

Betty Boop Skin?
Is it possible for one of you talented people to make a nice Betty Boop skin for the background gallery ?I would like one for my profile page but I dont know how to make it.

Skin-makers, take note
As of today's update (6/10/08), we are not allowing skins that were taken from the Gallery (by someone other than the skin's owner) to be re-submitted to the Gallery unless the skin name has been changed. This will prevent accidental re-submissions of duplicate skins, which seems to be the #1 problem in managing the Gallery. We'll see how this goes.

Matching Fonts in "About Me" to your profile
Click on change my skin and go to the fonts tab to find out the font family name and the color code of the “main body” section. Write both down so you don’t have to look them up later.
Before you begin, make sure that your “About Me” section is not the default color font by editing the section and changing it to the same font family as your skin body font and selecting any color except black and save it. To do this, you need to highlight the entire text in the box before you make any changes.
Now you are ready to edit the section.
• On your profile page, right click “View Source”
• In the document that pops up click on Edit, then Find
• In the pop up box type in … about me
• Highlight everything starting with < p> and ending with < /p> and right click “copy”. This is the content of your “About Me” section and all the information you need to make the necessary changes. The following is an example of what you will see:
< p>< strong>< font face="comic sans ms,sand" size="3" color="#993366">I currently live the Flordia life style. Great sunshine, beaches and many things to do. < /font>< /strong>< /p>< p>< strong>< font face="Comic Sans MS" size="3" color="#993366">My husband and I have lived here four years. It was a bit of a change coming from Wisconsin. I does take time to adjust, but there is nothing better than winter in Florida. < /font>< /strong>< p>< strong>< font face="Comic Sans MS" size="3" color="#993366">I have recently retired. I had been a Floral Designer for 25 yrs plus. Another adjustment for me will be retirement. Hope I can do it.< /font>< strong>< /p>
< p>< strong>< font face="Comic Sans MS" size="3" color="#993366">We have a 10 yr old dog. She is a wire fox terrier, named Emily. She is so sweet and a very good girl. There is nothing she enjoys more than any opportunity to go swimming. She is one great little swimmer.< /font>< /strong>< /p>

• In the new document, change all the color numbers to the number you wrote down earlier.
• Save the document.
• Now you want to highlight all the new code so you can paste it into your “About Me” section, overwriting the original.
• Save it. It will look strange, but you have one more step and that should fix it.
• Click on edit and when the screen opens, you should see your “About Me” in the correct colors. If the font color is white you won’t see anything. Do nothing in the text box but save it again. This should fix everything and your “About Me” should now match the fonts and colors in your profile.

Color Box is Back!!!
Thank you Tallbob and company. The Hex Code color box is working again in the skinner. That, combined with the larger preview in the skin editor is just going to make things easier.
