Digital Paintbrush Artists

Artists using programs like Corel Painter, Twisted Brush, Art Rage, Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro to create paintings that look like real watercolors or oils or other traditional media.
Creating paintings from photos is ok also. A fun place to share your work and ideas.

Create Hand Stroked Digitial "Paintings"

This group is for ARTISTS who create "paintings" with computer software like Corel Painter, Twisted Brush, Art Rage, Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro and similar programs utilizing hand strokes with a digital tablet or mouse.

This is more of a painting group and not one for animations, cutesy tags, scrapbook pages, scripts, actions, plugins and that sort of thing. There are other groups here on Eons for that already. (Some of us do use scripts, actions and plugins to prepare a photo for painting, but the art is in applying the digital paint, stroke-by-stoke.) Some of us paint digitally from scratch (not I; I paint over digital photos)!

If you are a beginner, or want to learn how to create a hand stroked digital painting, come on in and have some fun learning and doing. Ask for help or offer it. Let’s hand stroke paint together, digitally. It helps a lot if you have a digital tablet with pressure sensitive stylus (brush).

PSP Corel Official Magazine

Hey Paint Shop Pro Users!

Today, I went by the local Barnes & Noble and picked up the first issue of the Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo Magazine.

It’s something to drool for!

It is printed in England, but don’t let that deter you. Check it out at www.officialpspp.com

The following tutorials are in the first issue:

Turn a photo into an oil painting
Use the Feedback Filter
Get creative with frames
Image fix
Learning Centre
Reader’s gallery

There is even a DVD which I haven’t looked at yet. Two video tuts on it are:

Turn Photos into a Realistic Oil Painting, and
How to Create a Pencil Sketch.

I’ve just ordered the second issue online at the above link. Why wait a month until it gets to the bookstore?

I’ve got no financial interest in this; just spreading the great news.
