This is a place for all new Eons members to meet, learn about the site and make new friends.
Latest group announcement
Need some feedback here!
Yoo Hoo, anybody home? I'm wondering if all you December registrants to Eons are outside playing and having fun on Eons??! Do you use this group at all? I know that Nutty and JillCarmel have been posting in here sometimes, but I would love some feedback on how this group has worked.
Did the moderators help you find groups you would be interested in? Did you move on from here? Do you come back at all? Should we close this group or leave it available in case we want to have a six month reunion party in June??!! Let me know! You can reply to this announcement!!

Caregivers for elderly parents
I would like you to stop by this group if you are a caregiver for your parents. First of all - thank you...it is not easy and not everyone realizes how hard it is.
This site is where people that are taking care of their elderly and aging parents come to share problems, get ideas, vent frustrations, find out how to keep dealing with elderly anger, depression, mental and sometimes physical abuse from your loved ones while you are repaying the debt of love and care they gave you.
Stop by!

Group Announcement
I have been asked by the group manager to help her let people know about her group that is called "Caregivers for Spouse". I belong to the group to talk about the difference when it is not a parent who you look after but "your one and only" - come and check it out and maybe get some help and ideas. Or at least a place to laugh and vent a little...

Just for Grins

Maxine was driving down the street in a sweat because she had an important meeting and couldn't find a parking place. Looking up toward heaven, she said, 'Lord, take pity on me. If you find me a parking place I will go to church every Sunday for the rest of my life and give up sex and wine.'
Miraculously, a parking place appeared.
She looked up again and said, 'Never mind. I found one.'

A group about Scouting...
Hi, December 07 Newbies!
I'm the manager of the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts on Eons Group and would like to invite you to take a look at our Group. Here's the group description: "Are you a former Girl Scout or Boy Scout, a current or ex-Scoutmaster or Adult Leader? Are you someone who cares about the kids in your life and supports the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts? Share your experiences and stories here. Meet others with the same interests. Share your scouting stories. Ask questions about scouting. It's happening here! All welcome." You don't have to have been a scout to join. If you weren't, here's a great place to learn why many of us hold scouting so dear in our memories. Come join us.
Smiles! RiReg, Manager

Life Is A Gift
LIFE IS A GIFT
There was a blind girl who hated herself because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She told her boyfriend, 'If I could only see the world, I will marry you.'
One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her. When the bandages came off, she was able to see everything, including her boyfriend.
Reply
He asked her,'Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?' The girl looked at her boyfriend and saw that he was blind. The sight of his closed eyelids shocked her. She hadn't expected that. The thought of looking at them the rest of her life led her to refuse to marry him.
Her boyfriend left in tears and days later wrote a note to her saying: 'Take good care of your eyes, my dear, for before they were yours, they were mine.'
This is how the human brain often works when our status changes. Only a very few remember what life was like before, and who was always by their side in the most painful situations.
Life Is a Gift
Today before you say an unkind word - Think of someone who can't speak.
Before you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someone who has nothing to eat.
Before you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someone who's crying out to GOD for a companion.
Today before you complain about life - Think of someone who went too early to heaven.
Before you complain about your children - Think of someone who desires children but they're barren.
Before you argue about your dirty house someone didn't clean or sweep - Think of the people who are living in the streets.
Before whining about the distance you drive Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.
And when you are tired and complain about your job - Think of the unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had your job.
But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another - Remember that not one of us is without sin.
And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down - Put a smile on your face and think: you're alive and still around.
