Cribbage - 50+ Players
For cribbage players from the casual "around the kitchen table" to the serious player on the tournament circuit, this is the group for you! Post your questions, tournament information, tips, and stories here!

Welcome to the Group!
Hello, and welcome to this group of cribbage buffs, players, and pegging fans. You posts and replies are welcome here. Please use good judgement about being respectful of others as you post and reply. I welcome news of tournaments being held around the country, as well as those results, and playing tips for those honing their game.
Posts which are more than six months old will be closed to replies. Longer posts are welcome, and it is not required that you put the bulk of those longer messages in the first reply, but it would be nice. I will follow my own advice on this....prior to being a manager, I didn't give it a thought.
Keep pegging, folks! And remember, this game is one where knowing the statistical probabilities of play and hands, as well as strategy, are the secret of the masters of the game. All others say it's "just luck"

Hey All
Cribbage is one of my favorite games. I seem to get the combinations whereas in Pinochile I get lost in counting the cards etc... I learned it in college from my boyfriend who is not the man I married--- but I digress...
I still play the game 30years later and found out my Dad knew how to play. He is 87 and we have a howling good time playing. His sight isn't what it once was so sometimes I win but mostly he gives me a run for my money.
I may have to check in on Yahoo on a Wednesday night.
Talk to you later

Welcome DebbieLibby and MathLady343
We're glad you could join the group! Feel free to post news or info about cribbage....as well as items of interest in your life. This isn't a huge or super busy group, but I check in daily most days, and so do some of the other members!
Need Lessons or Practice?
Please feel free to pm me about some days/times you would like to meet and play cribbage online. I normally favor yahoo games, but with notice I could meet you at msn or pogo to play. I am not deliberately trying to advertise other sites than eons, but at this time eons does not offer cribbage in its 2-player menu.
If you're rusty, or never played but would like to.....pm me!

An Expert's Opinion About the Game
(I apologize for the caps....this is a direct cut and paste to avoid errors).
OVER THE LONG RUN, EVERYBODY GETS SIMILAR CARDS. THE DIFFERÂENCE IS IN HOW THEY PLAY THEM. IMPROVED SKILL, BETTER JUDGMENT, AND GREATER KNOWLEDGE OF THE GAME WILL INCREASE THE AMOUNT OF GOOD LUCK ONE EXPERIENCES AND DECREASE THOSE TIMES OF BAD LUCK AS WELL. THE BEST CRIBBAGE PLAYERS ARE GOOD DISCARDERS, COUNT WELL, AND MANIPULATE THE GAME TO THEIR ADVANTAGE THROUGH BOARD POSITION AND PEGGING STRATEGIES.

Just thought of a game you might have wanted to see; I and two smart-alecky grandsons, playing three handed. I beat them both by several holes, skunked one and double-skunked the other in one game. Thats a "five - in - one'er" which I will never forget or allow them to forget either. The 'Ol Man is still in control!
Welcome Drawnaj
Welcome to the group! You won't find a nicer group of people, even if the group isn't large or terribly active. Glad you decided to join us. Post and reply as often as you like!

Pushing 82 now and I can see the back side of the hill from here. It's a short slippery slide or a smoothe take-off, all depends on the mood old St Pete is in. . . . see yu
Wednesdays at 5:30 AK, 6:30 PT....etc.
Hello, cribbage players!
Sixty30 and I meet over in Yahoo! cribbage every Wednesday night at this time (ranging from 5:30 for Alaska to 9:30 for Eastern Standard Time) to play cribbage. We meet in Social Lounge 5, and catch up on the week's news over our favorite game.
If you'd like to join us there, you're more than welcome. Look for either laura_anew or timeweaitsfornoman....that's us!
You have to create a Yahoo! id to play, but there is no cost to do this, or to play.
See you there!

First Deal Advantage
Winning the opening deal provides a 12-15% advantage to that player. The dealer of that opening hand will have the advantage of an extra crib, dealer pegs which are nearly double average pegs of non-dealer.

Welcome Wyowind
Welcome to the group, wyo!
We're not very active, but I do check in daily. It would help if we could play cribbage on eons, not just talk about it.
If you are active in any groups in your area, etc. feel free to post the news here!
Again, welcome.
