Brain Games

The Brain Games group is dedicated to talking about Brain Games on Eons. What games do you like? Which mental areas do you exercise the most? Which games and mental areas are the hardest for you? Also, do you have any tips or strategies for any of the Brain Games? Let's have fun!

Game Status

I play the jigsaw every day. Every day it says that it can't report (or whatever?) the results. I think that as you play the brain games that your scores should stay the same as long as you play them like once a month. If I go by my ratings right now, I am just about brain dead. My feeling is that Eons has a responsibility to its members to pay attention to the complaints and requests, and then take care of it and send out an announcement so that we are all on the same page.

Brain Games Malfunction

I've been playing Brain Games since last August. I enjoy them, and I try to play them all equally. For the last week, I have been able to sign on to Eons, but I can't reach any of the games and all of my scores are missing.
If I go to "Brain Games" I get a "Welcom Guest" message.
If I try to play a game I get the message that I'm already signed in, and nothing happens.
Anyone else having this problem?

Exercise Your Brain, or Else You’ll ... Uh ...

By KATIE HAFNER
Published: May 3, 2008

When David Bunnell, a magazine publisher who lives in Berkeley, Calif., went to a FedEx store to send a package a few years ago, he suddenly drew a blank as he was filling out the forms.

“I couldn’t remember my address,” said Mr. Bunnell, 60, with a measure of horror in his voice. “I knew where I lived, and I knew how to get there, but I didn’t know what the address was.”

Mr. Bunnell is among tens of millions of baby boomers who are encountering the signs, by turns amusing and disconcerting, that accompany the decline of the brain’s acuity: a good friend’s name suddenly vanishing from memory; a frantic search for eyeglasses only to find them atop the head; milk taken from the refrigerator then put away in a cupboard.

Questions about BG

Hi everyone,

I've noticed that not all of the games I play for Motor Skills don't show up on the list of games that I've played. Does anyone else have that problem.

Also, even though my game scores increase, the proficiency status number remains the same.

Does any one know if this is a glitch - I've gone up 7000 points in Gold Miner, yet my proficiency status remains the same. Same with Dinner Dash.....

Thanks!

May 10 Program for Improv Theater Master

Hi Eons Folks!

I'm David Shepherd, and I run Group Creativity in Belchertown, Mass., which is an ongoing activity group for people who love improv theater as much as I do. And I can tell you that I'm really love it because I've been out there doing improv since 1955 with lots of people who you would know, and many who are just regular folks.

On May 10 in Amherst, Mass. at the Jones Library (from 2 to 4 p.m.) you'll have a chance to meet me and learn more about the ways I've helped the world of improv theater evolve. This is a program sponsored by Valleywood II - a celebration of the digital arts in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts. All details are posted at the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce website.

Hope to see you there. Or, you can find me on Eons under the Improviser profile.

best,

David Shepherd

Brain Games

Dementia-Dreading Baby Boomers Spur Race to Invent Brain Games

It's 1 p.m. at the Heritage Estates' Brain Gym in Livermore, California, and the gym rats are starting their workout.

Dorothy Emmrich, age 100, straps on a headset and glares at a computer screen showing rows of playing cards. Each makes a different sound when she clicks on it. She searches for pairs that make matching sounds, a classic memory game.

Luxor

Well I finally made it to the 4th level! 4-4 then I lost. Has anyone made it past that? This is on the web version. How many levels are there?
