We are Boomer Rock!

Boomer Rockers are alive and well. Gald to see so many musicians still making time on the stage. There is a song by Dave Rawlinson called Boomer Rock. The lyrics capture the essence of music and jamming for most of us part time musicians.

Boomer Rock
Lights, start walking in
Stage, can’t hear for the din
Someone hands me a glass,
Full to the brim
Look around and he’s there,
Knocking those rims

Long ago, hung up my axe
Learned to hate email and fax
Let my dreams fall away,
Lost in a well
Started raising kids,
not raising hell

So, five days a week, I pay my dues
Keep ahead of the game, plenty to lose
Now, it’s Friday night,
look at the clock,
crowd is so right,
we’re Boomer Rock!

You and I share a dream
Now’s the time to make a scene
Wipe the dust off your axe,
Go change the strings
Spend some money on yourself,
Buy her some bling

Frustrated Rock Fan

I am 53 and now that I am free from marriage and raising kids (I have teens but am free to roam) I have been venturing into Hollywood to rediscover live rock! I had forgotten how good it is. My favorite club is the Hotel Cafe, very intimate and an abundance of unsigned talent! I mean there is really great talent! My favorite bands to see are the Steve Carlson Band (rock) Common Rotation (folk/indie) and Kane (country/rock,recently signed). I am FRUSTRATED that most clubs are 21+ or 18+. I want my teens to have this live experience, I want to take them with me. They are stuck on gangsta rap, latin hip hop and old skool. Old skool is at least sorta rock but still I want them to have other influences. I have put together a business plan to bring live music back to the American family in a fun setting. I am trying to find funding so the frustration is making me crazy. Kids now a days have no clue how much fun Bluegrass, folk or rock can be or even what some of it is. I saw a really great bluegrass/rockabillie band "The Defibulators" who are on the east coast but were playing in L.A. LOVED THEM!!

CONCERT TO BENEFIT THE NEW HAMPSHIRE FOOD BANK

TO MY EONS FRIENDS AND MEMBERS IN MA AND NH, COME ON OUT FOR A FUN NIGHT AND SUPPORT A GREAT CAUSE!
A dear friend of mine, Robert Saitow, from Pelham, NH that I met just a short couple of years ago through the travel business was killed on November 16 in a tragic car accident. He was just 51 years old and left behind a beautiful wife, two children and many, many friends. In a very short time we became fast friends through our mutual love of family, travel and great live music.
He became a fan of Bellevue Cadillac at a show at the Tupelo Music Hall in Derry, NH. Bellevue Cadillac has a show scheduled January 25 at Tupelo. Bellevue Cadillac and Tupelo Hall have graciously decided to have this performance in memory of our good friend and fan, Robert Saitow, and some of the proceeds of the show will be donated to the New Hampshire Food Bank in his memory.
This will be a fun and entertaining evening! There will be some raffle items, including a trip for two for four nights to Puerto Rico with air and two rounds of golf.
If you’ve never seen Bellevue Cadillac before, you are in for a treat! Billboard Magazine dubbed them “the baby boomer band that could and still can,” in an article that said: “Bellevue Cadillac proves that you don't need record company support to create national attention and recognition. They've toured nationally and internationally, had their music in television shows, and major motion pictures, and are recorded on almost 20 cd’s in 30 countries.” Check them out at www.bellevuecadillac.com.
And if you haven’t discovered Tupelo Music Hall yet, you will be glad you did! It’s a small, intimate music venue with an excellent roster of entertainment. They were voted “Best of New Hampshire” awards in 2005, 2006 and 2007. It’s truly “all about the music.”
Tickets for the event are $22 and can be bought on their website at www.tupelohall.com. Tupelo is a BYOB venue and there is a $3 per person BYOB fee.

Boomers Rock, Boomers Roll

But gettin' old can take it's toll. Played accordion on the radio at the age of 8, then February 9, 1964 Ed Sullivan introduced those guys from across the pond. I bought my first guitar and amplifier the next morning, and had my first paying gig five days later. Still doing it a few thousand years later. In a band called Boomersaurus. Google us;-)

seeya round...
Quack!
