How to handle weights when you have bone spurs

I have bone spurs in my shoulders and heels and lifting weights and doing curls or lifting to the side or overhead hurts. Has anyone else this problem and what modified workout can you do to get around this problem. I can not do any heavy impact aerobics either.

Water aerobics

Hi - I'm Dodee and I am a diabetic and have neuropathy. I have tried regular exercise along with diet and never lost an inch nor a pound. Now I am doing water aerobics 3 times a week, 1 hour at a time, and going to have to go below 1,000 calories per day. So far I still am as big as ever and have a big stomach.
Most all my weight in the stomach was added when I was on Avandia, I stopped that, and am now on Actos. Have been taking a couple others, too - all this under a doctor's care and prescriptions.

I NEED HELP - anyone have any other ideas on what I can try in order to not only lose weight, but those horrible inches at my waist line.

Welcome New Members

On behalf of Varinka, I'd like to welcome all the new members and let you know she appreciates you being here, except of course, our recent spammer who will soon be eliminated.

She is away at the present time, but will be back with us shortly. I didn't want any of you to think that this group had an absent manager or was being ignored, it isn't. I assure each and everyone of you, her absence is temporary.

Glad to see your interest in the group!

Hello My Friends

This is Bonita,
I joined 2 months ago. I asked for help with
a Workout for someone who has had Heart Surgery.
I was ignored. I think that this was a question of
concern. I wanted to work out without causing
injury to my heart. I don't understand why I was
not given any advice!!!!!!!!!!

A newbie trying to get motivated!

Hi y'all,
In my 30's and 40's I used to work out all of the time, but now that I'm in my 50's (when I need it most) I don't. Help! haha.
Have a great day.
