Applying Makeup

This maybe a strange question, but hoping someone will know. I was born with a congenital condition that made one of my eyes larger than the other. It is a noticeable difference. I was wondering if anyone knows a trick with applying eye makeup to actually make your eyes look smaller. I know most people want their eyes to look larger but.... I don't. I know by putting makeup on a certain way you can make your nose look smaller but never saw anything on the eyes. Would appreciate any ideas.
Thanks

Hair Care Problem

I've had a strange problem with my hair for the past month. It has suddenly started looking dull and feeling like it's dirty and full of product immediately after I wash it. My hair is very fine so I usually shampoo, condition and then slick a light layer of shampoo over the top again. I don't use any other product on it except minoxidil to combat thinning. No hairsprays, gels, mousses, pomades, you name it.

I've tried washing my brush, replacing the brush, not brushing at all and just letting it air dry and switching to clarifying shampoo and conditioner. NOTHING is helping! I've spoken to my hairdresser, dermatologist and pharmacist about this, to no avail. They all tell me to use a clarifying shampoo and conditioner, but that is not working.

I'm beginning to worry that this is a symptom of some underlying health issue, like a lack of vitamins or other supplement, or an undiagnosed illness. Any ideas or suggestions, ladies? After nearly a month of this, I'm beginning to consider getting a buzz cut, which I know I would hate. I'm just THAT desperate!

Cheap & effective skin care

I did research 20 years ago about using petroleum jelly on face and wrinkles. A women I knew swore it worked for her.

The researched stated that women that used the product on skin did have less fine wrinkles.

The only and best way to use petroleum jelly on skin:

Apply it within 5 minutes after bath time. Just a thin layer will do the trick.

Make-up in purse

Do you carry make-up in your purse? If so, what do you carry? I actually only carry a lipgloss and mascara. Never have carried much with me as I always make sure it is on right before I leave home.

Do you color your own hair

I have a friend who spends $150 ever 6 weeks to have her hair colored. I, personally do my own. Maybe I should have it done professionally but I can't afford to. I have gotten very good at doing it. As a matter of fact, this same friend has ask me on numerous occasions who does my hair. So do you color your own hair or do you go to the beauty shop?

Video: Swimsuits Modeled by Average Women

I thought this video was a 'REAL' find!

We are in swimsuit season, Ladies, and every one of us has been through the in-store-try-on marathon. We have some small idea, how the suits will look, on, at least, on models we've seen in catalogs, or ads. The below video (made in 2007, but, the suit styles are the same ones we have to choose from this year)features average women, not professional models. How interesting, seeing how the suit styles look on gals like us!

Jogging

It has been three days now. I am on summer vacation from teaching, but one of my goals this summer was to build up my strength, especially since my high school students nick named me the "Terminator".

I am setting my alarm for 7, drink some coffee, feed the animals and start my run around 7:30. I jog with music. I was always a runner since I was 16, ran a marathon once. I am starting all over again at 54, but it is feeling good since I am being careful not to overdue it and build up my distance slowly.

I need all the inspiration I can get, and I hope that I can keep this up when I start school. It is amazing the confidence one gets when they are outside exercising. Thanks for letting me share. Ibis
