Hi
My name's Mary and though I spend a lot of time on the computer, I'm such a dawdler that I neglect the social networking sites.
Sure, I could use tips on getting things for less. I'm not retired and don't expect to, but my husband is 68 and though he owns and operates his own business, he really should start taking it easier - not that he'd admit that!
So any way I can find to cut costs would be welcome.
Thank you!

8 Gifts that do not cost a cent
8 Gifts that do not cost a cent
Dear Friends,
Here are 8 Gifts that do not cost a cent.
1. THE GIFT OF LISTENING...
But you must REALLY listen. No interrupting, no daydreaming, no
planning your response. Just listening.
2. THE GIFT OF AFFECTION...
Be generous with appropriate hugs, kisses, pats on the back and holds.
Let these small actions demonstrate the love you have for family and
friends.
3. THE GIFT OF LAUGHTER...
Clip cartoons. Share articles and funny stories.
Your gift will say, "I love to laugh with you."
4. THE GIFT OF A WRITTEN NOTE...
It can be a simple "Thanks for the help" note or a full sonnet.
A brief, handwritten note may be remembered for a lifetime, and may
even change a life.
5. THE GIFT OF A COMPLIMENT.. .
A simple and sincere, "You look great in red",
"You did a super job" or "That was a wonderful meal" can make
someone's day.
6. THE GIFT OF A FAVOR...
Every day, go out of your way to do something kind.
7. THE GIFT OF SOLITUDE...
There are times when we want nothing better than to be left alone.
Be sensitive to those times and give the gift of solitude to others.
8. THE GIFT OF A CHEERFUL DISPOSITION. ..
The easiest way to feel good is to extend a kind word to someone,
really it's not that hard to say, Hello or Thank You.
Thank you and have a Super week ahead!

McDonalds
Does everyone know McDonalds is giving away chicken sandwiches today,Thursday 5/15/2008, with the purchase of a med or large drink. Here large drinks are only $1.00 now. Would make a cheap lunch or breakfast depending where you live. Too bad I'm a vegitarian!

Hi everyone, nice to meet you all!
I'm also a member of Frugal Over 50, and I'm always open to learning andd sharing ways to save money. I'm gonna jump on in here and post this great link I found recently, where for 9.95/mth you get many times over that within a few days from totally free products of many kinds. I, like many of you, don't have 9.95 to just give away, but I've already gotten way more than that back in free products. I got $25 cash right off the bat, with no risk, the 1st day I joined this (so that covered my 9.95 and then some!), plus I got over $200.00 in other free items in just 4 days, and I haven't even gone through all the offers yet. They add to the list daily, and I like to take advantage of an offer before it expires even though they give you plenty of time. They gather offers from various well-known companies and put them on the one site...free products range from foods (grocery and restaurants), shoes, clothes, shampoo, deodorant, lotions, soaps, makeup, cleaning / laundry / household products, books, online offers from Amazon and other well know online companies, rebates from tire purchases, you name it! Some coupons can be printed, some coupons or even actual products come in the mail, some are call-in offers, some are in-store unadvertised offers, you just never know. You can stop any time you want, but I can't see giving up these great deals! Enjoy! Here's the link:

Free Pap tests, breast exams
I checked with my local Community Health Center, they have an Early Detection program, not sure if they have that where you live, but all I had to do was fill out a form listing my income, they then either approved me or not, luckily I was approved. I get 1 free pap test per year and 1 free mammogram. I'm very grateful to have found the program. I have no medical coverage so it was a wonderful gift.
new and unemployed
Hello all, how you doing today. This time last year I was working two jobs. Now I have none. I worked for Sears for almost five years and they called me into office one day. They said your job has been eliminated thanks but we have to let you go. We are getting severance pay and unemployment. But this sounds like a great place for bargins.
