I got my degree online

I started promoting colleges on the internet back in 2002. See my profile if you like to receive free college help. Swaphandmedowns Profile

I think it's great. Heading back to college at this age! I like learning so I probably will never leave college.

I am amazed by the speed at which women & babyboomers of both sexes are returning to college. I started some research on the subject and wrote a blog

Jesus Rose of Sharon Cross

Today we are featuring another Eons artist, Frogleggs. She is a self-taught artist since she was 8 years old. She loves pen and ink. She says, "The finer the pen the better, because when I was younger I loved detail work. Well, I found a drafting pen that was very fine and I was just doodling with it and made some roses so tiny you could hardly see them with the naked eye. Then I thought that looked neat, so I started making a bunch more until it started forming something. Ever since I have been making all kinds of things with the roses and leaves."

She works in a variety of media including pencil portraits, acrylic paints, watercolor, charcoal, colored pencil, wood carving by hand, wood burning with a magnifying glass, and crafts. Her work can be seen on her profile page as well as several art groups ~ Drawing and Painting, Eons Art for Sale and Young at Art.

The words "rose of Sharon" comes out of the Old Testament in the Song of Solomon. The verse reads: "I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys." (Solomon 2:1)

Jesus is actually not referred to as the 'Rose of Sharon' anywhere in the New Testament, although He is symbolically known as the 'Rose of Sharon'. Sharon was a beautiful wide valley-plain in Palestine. During the time of Solomon it was particularly beautiful and majestic and was known as a place where many flowers grew. The Rose is considered to be the most perfect of all flowers, and thus Jesus, being perfect and perfect in his love for us has been called the Rose of Sharon.

Thank you Frogleggs for sharing this beautiful example of your work with us at Catholics 50+. God has richly blessed you with an amazing talent.

Peace,
Rudy

Swimming

It's getting chilly here...our rainy season. Our summer is really in May and June, so I forget that in the states, now's the time for those swimming pools.

Did you teach your kids to swim? And do you or did you have a pool in your yard.

I took swimming lessons at the Y when I was a kid. I failed three times in a row. I hated it and was afraid of the water. Finally, when I was a teen and all the kids always went to the lake and swam out to the raft I got up the courage and forced myself to do it. Well.....there was this cute boy......
