Find what you're looking for on Eons with our powerful search engine. Find new friends, reconnect with old ones, discover Groups that match what you're really interested in, and so much more! The Eons search has been completely redesigned so you can target your search and find what you need quickly and easily.

Search is easy to find. It's in the upper, right-hand corner of every page on Eons. You have three initial search categories: People, Groups and Everything Else (videos, blogs, BOOMs, etc.).

Select one of the categories and either type in a search term - a keyword like someone's name or a topic like "chocolate" - or leave the box blank. When you're ready to search, click on the "Go" in the green circle to the right. You're off!

Searching using a search term

When you put in a search term for any of the three categories - People, Groups and Everything Else - the search results page will have tabs for each of the categories, and will display the category you selected for your search.

For example if you type "chocolate" under the People category, the results page will open to the People tab, and give you links to member Profiles who have "chocolate" in their screen names or mention "chocolate" on their Profiles. That same results page will also have tabs with results for "chocolate" in Groups and in everything else on Eons: videos, blogs, BOOMs, etc.

Under the Everything Else tab, you can filter these results by un-clicking options that appear to the right; videos, blogs, BOOMs.

Searching without a search term

When you click on search without having entered a search term, you will get a results page that provides you further options in the category you selected for your search.

For People

You will get a results page that gives you two options:

  • Browse all members will lead to a page with choices to narrow down the search to screen names, keywords or features such as location, gender, age range, interests and relationship status.
  • Search for people you already know will lead you to options to search by members' full names, screen names or email addresses. Results will be by screen names of members who include the word(s) you entered. You will only get results using an email address if a member has set his privacy settings to make their email address available as a search option.

For Groups

You will be directed to a Group page that lets you narrow your search in two ways. This page has both another Group search box and the beginning of a list of all Groups by Group name.

List of all groups allows you to sort the Groups in five ways:

  • Most active
  • Most members
  • Alphabetical A to Z
  • Alphabetical Z to A
  • New Groups

Type in a keyword in the Group search box at the top of the page. This will take you to a search results page that lists all Groups that have that word in their names, or in the descriptions of the Groups.

For example, if you're interested in travel, type that word in the search box and click search. The results page will list all Groups that have "travel" in their name or in the Group description. Then you will have the option to sort these Groups as listed above.

You can also narrow your search by typing in something more specific, such as "cruising" or "travel Italy".

For Everything Else

You will get a results page that allows you to browse people who are already members on Eons, browse groups on Eons, or find someone by their name, email or screen name.
