I have had a time with my newer laptop over the weekend . . . specifically on Saturday. First, I had trouble getting it to start after I had shut it down . . .something I normally don't do. There was this high-pitched noise that sounded like a cross between a cat with its tail caught in the door and something used to wake the dead! At one point it asked it I wanted to do a sys restore . . . I should've answered in the affirmative because it went downhill after that!

Next, I noticed that I only had 6% power left in the battery even though I was plugged into the electric outlet! At last count it was at 3% and I could no longer get the laptop to even try to turn on because there wasn't enough "juice" left.

I have it plugged into the car battery at the moment to see if it was the power supply that was the problem. If not, the next logical thing to check is the battery itself . . . I think I have a spare around here somewhere if I can find it. LOL

Once I can get the thing charged then I can attempt to restore it to some semblance of its former configuration. Wish me luck.

Of course, it is the "gift" that keeps giving! I am using my older laptop at the moment . . . which hasn't been used in about a year! Things are a bit out of date . . . including my handy dandy list of passwords and logins! I can no longer login to Photobucket because I can't remember the NEW password! ARGH!

Then, there is the problem with the chatboxes! Xat stores cookies on your computer so that it will recognize you . . . and as some of you know, if you change computers, it won't recognize you! I had to re-do some of the chatboxes last weekend because I had run a program that dumped the xat cookies. Well, guess what . . . I am in the same "pickle" again. LOL

And then there is the plight of my refrigerator! It also picked the same time to decide to "give up the ghost!" It doesn't owe me a thing . . .it has served me faithfully for 21 years. As soon as I can get it cleaned out . . . and the kitchen in some kind of un-disarray, I will get a new one! Sheesh.

Anyway, that is my "State of the KK-land" message for this HOT, HOT, HOT Monday, July 21st. Stay cool everybody. I will be online as much as I can.
