I miss him by tearfulsquaw

I have not been among my eon friends for a while....My dad passed away on April 23rd......I just returned home yesterday.........as you can see from the picture ...he was a mess......always joking around and making people laugh.......He was a retired Chesapeake Police Officer...and there was full police honors at his service....it was so touching...my mom and myself not knowing he had passed.....walked into his room...that is something that I will never forget.....seeing....after the shock wore off .....I was kind of releived.....he was suffering greatly........I loved him and am missing him so much......

I'm sorry for your loss tearfulsquaw.
We all die, some young some old and it's never easy. Sometimes you get to say goodbye other times you don't.
My daughter just lost a friend who was only 19. It's so so sad.
I understand what you're going thru.

I, too, lost my dad and have a painful picture like this one of your father (of his last Christmas). You could see it in his eyes that he knew it was his last. His frail body hung like that dreaded last message-hope gone. Cancer took him at 67 and my mom at 54. The comment you got of positive memories soon replacing sadness is what I experienced. My sister and I took a trip to Ireland to scatter his ashes in a place he never got to alive but loved so well. Yes, the suffering is gone and now there is peace. Regards.....Cheryl
