Looking for travel tips and recommendations from people who've been there?

Our returning volunteers have a lot of great advice for you! Like where to go before or after an expedition, what clothes to bring, the best local travel options, and where to change money.

We've gathered this information together and created a set of Volunteer To Volunteer webpages. I'll give a complete list of the current pages at the end of this post.

Here are some examples of information you can find on these pages:

Brazil:
"We went to Iguaçu Falls, and I recommend it highly. We spent a little more and stayed at the hotel that is right by the falls: Tropical das Cataratas. It's the only hotel inside the park, and it’s quite gorgeous. The falls are just right outside of the hotel."
—Mike Kerkman, on Conserving the Pantanal

Kenya:
"If you’re staying at the Fairview Hotel in Nairobi, the hotel can send a taxi to pick you up. They’ll charge it to your hotel bill, so you won’t have the hassle of handling cash first thing in another country."
—volunteer on Samburu Wildlife and Communities

Costa Rica:
"Try to bring quick-drying clothing, you can pack lighter if you hand wash during the week. If you want to go on the marsh walk make sure you have shoes (not the same ones you plan to work in) that will stay on in the mud. Many of our team had Keens and were very happy for it. "
—Traci Smith, on Costa Rican Sea Turtles

Australia:
"I took the Kuranda train in Cairns, which was amazing."
—Lindze Merritt, on Echidnas and Goannas of Kangaroo Island

Greece:
"The people generally spoke a little English, or at least tried their best to communicate; however, language is definitely a bigger problem in Greece than elsewhere in Europe."
—Magi McEntire, on Dolphins of Greece
