I needed to edit this posting. Now that Obama is in the Middle-east, all three anchors for the network news are there with him. Has any anchor ever been with Mccain on one of his many trips abroad? This is the utmost in journalistic bias, I have ever seen. Why have the press not stated that the 200 thousand people attending his speech in Germany were there for a 'rock concert' and not just to listen to Obama. Ommission is still a form of falsehood.
It has been said more then a few times, that the United States would fall, not from a BANG, but by a whimper.
Nikita Kruschev, once stated that the United States would fall from within. The President of Iran,
President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has called us evil and has called for the annilation, not only of Israel but of the United States as well. The press in this country treats all of this as a non-issue. I for one, believe what out enemies tell us. They don't need to be politically correct.
Hitler in his day, mesmorized the people, most loved him and would follow him. Even world leaders looked up to him in admiration. People listened to his speeches but not his words.
I am sure that some members of this group who served in South East Asia, during the Vietnam war, remember this operation. the US Air Force had these small Cessna type, 2 seater planes that flew over enemy terratory, dropping leaflets. These leaflets promised all sor tof things, land, money, ect. for turning in their arms, informing the enemy that a major force was coming to get them when in fact, there were no troops in the area. It was all a part of Psychological warfare, and these planes were lovingly called, Bull-shit Bombers. Some reporters actually called them bombing missions.
The press has always distorted the actual facts. They will even go so far as to say Iran's president only says these things because of our involvement in Iraq. ( even though Israel has no troops there)
What this country and most countries of the west are lacking in is Journalistic Intergrity. I always felt the press leaned to far over to the left, ever since Vietnam when Time magazine staged phony attacks in order to get some good photos. Now it is even worse.
The Society for Professional Journalists has a web site, informing journalist how to portray issues, what they are to say and how their photos should be. While it is true that one photo says a thousand words, those words can also be lies. I will give you a few of their ideas under the chapter dealing in Ethics;
1. Portray Muslims, Arabs and Middleastern Americans in the richness of their diversity.
2.Use language that is informative but not inflamatory.
3.Make an extra effort to include olive complexioned and darker skinned men and women, Sikhs, Muslims and devote religious people in storyies of the Arts, Business, society columns, not just in stories about crisis.
4. When writing about terrorists, remember to include white-supremasists, Radical anti-abortionists and other groups.
5. When describing Muslims,, do not lump them together as the "fury of the Muslim world".
6. Do not use the words, Islamic Terrorists or Muslim extremists. The term "Political Islamists"
or Al Qaeda is preferred.
7. Avoid using the term 'Jihad' unless you are certain of the precise meaning. The basic meaning of Jihad is 'to excert oneself for the good of Islam and to better oneself. ( False)
8. Ask the men and women from within that community to review your work and ask for suggestions.
In other words, do not write anything that can upset them.
We are getting so politically correct that we should never make our enemies feel unwanted and unloved.
That might be the Christian doctrine but it's not mine. I call it as I see it. If a bombing is done by Muslim Terrorists, then they should say so. If the President of Iran calls for the detruction of Israel and the USA by a 'Jihad' then say so. I fear that Europe has no hope of survival and unless we actually opne our eyes to what is happening, Kruschev's vision will be a correct one.
In September of 2004, Chechnian rebels took 1200 children and their parents hostage in which 200 had died. Reporters keep saying Rebels or Terrorists instead of saying who they really were, Islamic Extremists.
