What Brings Out The Child In Me
There are many things that can bring out my inner child but the best ones are the following:
Seeing things through the eyes of children. Take Christmas for instance, children’s wonder at the lights, the music, Santa and the presents, and the snow. Speaking of snow, it brings out my inner child, getting all bundled up to go out and make snowmen, snow angels, snow forts for snowball fights, losing your gloves, and then your hands are freezing. Hot chocolate after playing in the snow brings out my inner child.
Thunderstorms bring out my inner child. The power of them amazes me but on some deeper level still scare me like they did when I was a child.
Certain cartoons and movies can bring out my inner child. Scooby Doo, Shrek, Nemo, etc., all tickle my funny bone now, like all the old cartoons did when I was a child.
Summer holidays can still bring out my inner child. Parades, picnics, fireworks, the beauty and “American-ness” of it all can still bring the inner child in me out.
Any and all things that bring me unabashed joy can still bring out my inner child.
