My husband and I spent the 4th of July enjoying Canal Park in Duluth. Boats were passing under the historic aerial lift bridge, the seagulls were abundant, and the weather was perfect--clear and 78 degrees.
For those who have not visited this area, it is truly symbolic of what can be done to renovate an area. We browsed shops of all kinds located in what used to be old warehouses. It is also the location of Grandma's Grill and Bar, the sponsoring and finish line of Grandma's Marathon--a race that has runners following the scenic north shore of Lake Superior for the entire time.
