Woo-hoo! I'm in T-Zone Heaven! The holiday Twilight Zone marathon started this morning and will continue for about 24-48 hours! They used to only do it once a year over New Years Eve Day. This is a bonus!

I don't know why I'm so addicted to this show. I've seen all the episodes hundreds of times over the past 40+ years. I still remember the first episode I remember seeing. I was about 5 y.o.: A martian coming from a nearby pond and mixing in with some stranded folks at a diner. (Starring Ross Martin from Wild, Wild West fame, and Jack Elam - the guy with the funny eyes.)

T-zone was never a kids show. But I don't ever recall being afraid when I watched. Intrigued? Yes! And perhaps there were enough episodes featuring children that I could somehow identify with them.

Aside from that, as an adult, I LOVE seeing the "stars" of yesteryear before they became stars. Robert Redford, Telly Savalas, Dennis Hopper, Burt Reynolds, and a host of others. And then there are the other people in the cast of an episode who I don't ever recall seeing in anything else.

Perhaps I'm just being nostalgic. But as I've watched the shows again year after year, I'm still amazed at the morality component of every episode. Rod Serling was BRILLIANT!!! Every episode - even bad ones - leaves you thinking "What If?"

I loved that there were never any real monsters (like another favorite show - Outer Limits). The "monsters" in T-Zone were always ourselves, sometimes embodied in other people like our neighbors, friends, coworkers or someone who looks like a normal human being.

Well, that's my thought of the moment!
