In dreams of yesterday my thoughts go back to a huge hill. A favorite activity of summer was to pack a lunch (Read that as smear some peanutbutter on bread.), take my little sister by the hand and wander down the road to that hill. Under the barbed wire fence, skirting the cowpies. Our hike to the top began. Lay back in the grass and watch the clouds float by. We could spend hours there searching out faces, bears, hearts and flowers. Anything a young mind could imagine before us.
Recently went back to that hill. Not so huge, but the feelings of childhood and wonder are.
Oh, to feel like a child again

My sisters and I returned to our childhood home a few years ago. The thing we all noticed is that the "big hill" was really just a "little hill." We thought it was lots of fun riding, skating and just climbing up the big hill. I not sure why it looks so little now. Is because we are adults or because it was so little compared to the ones where we live now?

Remember playing King of The Hill? Wow that seemed like such a big hill to me back then. It was nothing more than a pile of dirt that had been unloaded. LOL

That was just so touching. I understand. It is nice to go back home, rediscover the joys, we had there... growing up! If nothing else than a pile of dirt to play and dream on! great post

- Great blog. Reading it brings back a flood of memories. We had a HUGE side yard where everyone wanted to play softball, ghost in the graveyard, crack the whip, red rover and anything else we could think to play. I was a girl with all boys my age in my neighborhood. My yard was a great place to play. When I grew up and went back passed it, oh my goodness somehow it shrunk to just a normal side yard. Looking at it through adult eyes it wasn't big enough to build a house on, and yet it did bring lots of fun days to mind. Thanks for reminding me of being a kid again.

My 3 brothers & sis are all in our 50's now and those memories seem so faded...
Thanks for taking me back :)
