All we got for our trouble was very loud ringing that disturbed everyone and completely unpopped popcorn. Although it would have been fantastic had it actually worked.......Also a little disconcerting.

It's an advertising campaign for a bluetooth headset. I'd imagine the company that made the videos that were released onto the web had all kinds of technological trickery available to them. AFAIK, no one has explained how it's done. Very clever ad campaign though.
