After traveling up to DC yesterday and spending some time last night with my friend Mark who kindly puts me up whenever I'm in the area, as well as his wonderful father, I picked my son up at Dulles Airport and returned home with him to start his two week visit. I decided to put off the trip to the Smokies until a week from Monday, July 7th giving Zach and I some time to put together a detailed plan for the trip, including arrangements for camping sites, hiking plans, and a travel itinerary. In any case, I'll be taking both this and next week off from work so we can spend most of the time together.
For starters, I set him up with a MySpace Profile so I might start to interact with him through here, and then I set him up on Twitter which will allow him to updated my cell phone (and the cell phone of others who care to follow him) from his computer. I learned about Twitter from the book Groundswell. Apparently, it is an up and coming service that got off to a great start when Obama used it to post people who wanted to follow his activities during his campaign against Hilary Clinton. Let me know if you check it out so I can follow you.
