Angry, oh yes, very angry, but not angry beyond words. I am furious that our President and Congress and government have sunk to the lowest standards of leadership to deal with the myriad problems facing Americans, rather than rising to meet these challenges with selfless courage and unflagging loyalty to the people.
Waiting in the wings to take over in November are two more cut from the same shoddy material. They are surrounded by the same selfish, greedy lobbyists that corrupt the halls of Congress in search of a feast upon the once-great middle class of America. They tear off a bit of flesh here, a bit there, as they sway those we entrusted to take care of our interests into following new 'global interests', read here: 'To hell with the interests of our constituents - go for the gold.'
Send leaders of this ilk to the ignominious dust heaps of history to chew the fat with Ozymandias. Send us, instead, a Lincoln or Washington or Roosevelt. Send us leaders that are not quaking in their boots out of fear of asking us to make deep sacrifices in order to win through to victories over Corporate greedy monsters; foreign countries that flood our stores with corruption in imported foods, toys, medicines; oil Baron ransoms; drug lord tyrants and those in our midst that sell our pride in work, our very jobs and security to foreign countries.
And show me a nation without sovereign, controlled borders that has not been raped, pillaged and burned. No such nation now exists.
Our states are selling and leasing bits of our infrastructure to foreigners. There goes a bit of Chicago. Bye bye California lottery, hello Texas Nafta Superhighway.
We need leaders with the guts and courage to say "We're in trouble. Our infrastructure must be totally rebuilt. Our energy sources must be greatly expanded. We must retake the lead in research and development. We must rebuild our manufacturing and heavy industries. There will be American jobs for all in this, but the cost will be great and you and I won't see the end results. our children must be better educated now and only then, may their children see the results. None of this will happen unless we take the first step now."
I'm angry because those leaders are nowhere to be seen and it looks like a nosedive into third world status.

Sometimes I let my anger overcome me so much that I feel ill. Then I think who am I angry at. Of course, my first stones are thrown at our government. Then I wonder why they would do us this way. The reason, I conclude is: They have only done what we let them do. We elected (in most cases) these people to do our bidding. We trusted them to serve our country and keep The United States in high esteem. They took liberties. They fell into bed with the enemies of the world. They became greedy from their power and each step of the way we remained silent.
We need to take back the country by getting rid of these that are working for the lobbies. Fire them for taking from us to wage their greedy power wars. Then we need to stay on top of anyone else we elect, make sure they aren't lining their pockets with the blood, sweat, and tears of The United States citizens.
We should never be comfortable with our elected officals. It makes us lazy. We end up where we are today.
We need to teach our children how important it is to stay involved in our government.

Now there is an unholy alliance between big business (International Corporations, National Corporations and the World Trade Organization) and our leaders. Money talks here and we, the people, have no voice to persuade. Large organizations on Wall Street are the major contributors to the campaigns of both presidential contenders. So who will have the ear of the next president?
Just this week the Nielsen Co. (Nielsen ratings for T.V. shows and a monopoly, bye the way), a Dutch owned company began firing American workers at the headquarters in Florida and replacing them with low wage employees from India. To add insult to injury, the American workers must train the foreigners to do the jobs they are losing or receive no severance package. Nothing like kicking a man when he's down, eh?
PtJeffersongirl, there is real pressure from those with power to nullify the United States of America one small piece at a time, hoping we won't notice. We are a Christian nation, founded upon Christian principles, so the attacks come on prayer in school, nativity scenes, the motto on our money "In God We Trust", even saying "Merry Christmas". Little nibbles here and there. Now they want to build a wonderful highway 3 football fields wide to connect Canada with Mexico. A foreign company, Spanish, will be building it and collecting the tariffs. That will make it unnecessary to stop at American ports and pay American workers to unload ships. China is building a huge auto factory in Tijuana to make cars cheap to sell in America. I'm afraid there won't be any American jobs in that factory or in the Ford factory in Mexico that's revving up. More nibbles, more little pieces.
