Where is it written that eating must be pleasurable? Hmmm? Eating is a necessity of life, like going to the bathroom. Does THAT have to be pleasurable? Why does food have to taste good? Can't it be enough that it is edible? And then, what is the sense of taste for? Why must people (Americans) be RULED by their sense of taste?
There are people in the world who eat LIVE GRUB WORMS and enjoy them. Would you? And then there are people who can't ABIDE the thought of eating eggs for breakfast.
So, I got to wondering...if taste is not really important, what is it for? After lengthy contemplation, it dawned on me the evolution could have only had one thing in mind when it developed "taste". Survival of the species! That's what's important overall, anyway.
So, the only reason for a sense of taste can be the forewarning of POISON! If it don't taste good, don't eat it and you will survive. Logical? So, then to carry this train of thought further...nothing has to taste GOOD...just not BAD. So, for those who eat because "it tastes good" are not following the rules of NATURE. Eating for pleasures sake is an anathema to the laws of survival. Eating should be treated as something that HAS to be done, not wanted to be done because it TASTES good. If more people could change their mind set about this, the obesity rate and death rate because of it, would cease to be a problem. Mothers, don't stick a sweet treat in the kids mouth because he is crying and don't tell him to finish up his plate when he knows he is done. Eating until full is not a necessity unless you don't know where your next meal is coming from.(like and animal in the wild) Time for humans to grow up and realize that food was put here for us to survive on. Not to enjoy or overindulge in. Suggestion: think about God or Nature if tat is your choice, don't think..."I don't feel good. Think I'll eat something".
