I recently added a couple of videos to my profile. They’re both unusual to say the least, and they probably require a bit of explanation.

The Other Gods: An Animated Lovecraft Short
I know many fans of H.P. Lovecraft consider his stories "unfilmable," and find most movie versions of them disappointing. But here's an animated film, only six minutes long, that comes closer to capturing the unique feel and images of Lovecraft than any full-length feature has.
Based on the short story of the same name, "The Other Gods" purports to be a "Restored version of the animated film treatment by Peter Rhodes of the H.P. Lovecraft story. Circa 1923/24," a "Silent Era Classic." Peter Rhodes was supposedly a friend of Lovecraft's, the first to attempt to film one of his stories.
The film was actually directed by Mike Boas, who is also its producer, and released in 2006. You can find his rambling account of the events and reasoning behind this hoax at

Extinction Stinks
The second film is a bit of inspired silliness I found on the Web by accident. It’s an amusing ecology propaganda / guerilla theater / performance art video by a group called Dinosaurs Against Fossil Fuels. It's only about five minutes long, and is accompanied by some cool rave-type music. The "dinosaurs" are people in clever arty costumes, and are frequently depicted riding bicycles (their tails sticking out behind the bikes had me laughing out loud).
The folks who made and posted it describe its "plot" as follows: "trapped in a time warp, dinosaurs discover the fossil fuel horrors of the modern age. Inspiration arrives in the form of a pedal-powered princess and the dinosaurs take the lane to victory with the help of two-wheeled technology."
