I can't upload a photo at this time, because the USB cord from my scanner as disappeared! So when I find it; or spring for a new one, I'll post photo's.

I've spent most of the time from 1984-2005 as a single parent. The past few years have been chaotic at times, but I try to maintain a positive attitude with God's help. I spend most of my time just working (2 jobs) and coming home. Last week, I started training for a full marathon in October. I did two half's last year. I do it as part of the Team In Training program to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I learned about this in 2006, when I won a trip to the Chicago Marathon. I had two very dear friends who died young from leukemia, (13 & 22)and have a friend who is a seven year lymphoma survivor. In just since my last event, they developed a chemo pill that has NO SIDE EFFECTS that you get with chemo. And a a member of the chemo, hair-losing, lunch losing club, that is MAJOR! It can also be used longer and is more effective. What a breakthrough!

We ran 5 miles last week as a group. (I do a run/walk combo)I train 5 days a week on my own, and we run as a group on Saturday's, where we do our long distances-this week it's 6 miles. If anyone is interested in charting my progress, they can go to my website and check it out: view link (It's a long one!) You can also see how much money I am raising! We are required to raise a certain amount to participate-but what a great cause!

My mission, is to make some new friends, and get out of the rut I've been in for so long. Hopefully I can meet some great folks on this site. God Bless you all.

Mary
