Climbed the Great Wall, had Mao glare down at me from the Forbidden City Walls at Tianemen Square and roamed the Forbidden City feeling the ghosts of eunuchs and concubines. Finished up with a burger at Hard Rock Cafe after a night of Peking Duck and assorted delicacies in Beijing.
Have arrived in Mongolia and after struggling through the bureaucracy of the Mongolian Immigration Dept for my Visa Extension I have been to a museum and several antique and tourist stores to stock up on some sculpture and gifts.
Will be leaving on Monday for the Gobi for three weeks, then return for a week at the famous Naadam Festival doing it on horseback, and then a final week going ger to ger in the wilderness on horseback and ox-cart between five different nomadic sites. can't wait to begin!!
