SUCCESS VS. FAILURE
posted 3 months ago
Success is never final and failure is never fatal! We can never live off of our past successes. God is in the now with us. 1 Sam. 14:6-14 we have to win the un-winable battles! Now I know that seams like a contradiction but I will show you why it is not. God show us that there are no unwinable battles only unfought ones. Take David’s success against all of his enemies. It was because he chose to fight and fight God’s battle for him and in the way God wanted him to fight. This assured him of victory after victory against unbelievable odds!
Failure is like a bad fart! It smells in the now but it goes away! Gen. 1:28 tells us to be more than champions--dominant over all the earth. Ephesians 3:20 Tells us of the power of God within us. We fail when we fail to recognize what God can do for us and with us! In relationship is how we are to function with God as his children.
When you risk nothing you gain nothing! If we do nothing then nothing will happen! It is just that simple. God does this so even I can understand it!
We are called to live out Christ in the public not in church! How is it that so many live a life so different in church than what they are in public? The answer is simple a lack of vision! Without vision my people perish! Vision for our lives is the key element in who and what we are. Vision is not a picture but and action word! Think of it like this a filmstrip is nothing more than a series of pictures it only becomes a film when it is moving the pictures through a projector. (Note this is lost on anyone less than 22 years of age as that they have never seen a projector.) So for them the DVD spins to impart the images and sound to the screen it takes movement action to have vision!
So how does this all apply to success vs. failure? Well you need to get God’s vision for your life and then pursue it with a vengeance.
This week I am burring my father in law who passed on Saturday. He was a man with a vision for his career, his family and his God. He pursued these visions with passion and determination and it is reflected in his life. He worked for Hercules Chemicals as an engineer and plant manager for 35 years. He raised 8 children, 5 boys and 3 girls. He remained married for 50 years to the same woman (no small task today). He served his church and God in different capacities over his life. He was not perfect but he was loved! He came to understand that the God of the past is the God of the now and he developed a relationship with Him so that He would be the God of his future!
