For the past six months there has been something to be done in my life. It started in January when my office coworkers bought me a ticket to fly back to Oklahoma to see my son, Alex, and his significant other, Hannah.
I hadn't seen him in just about a year and missed him terribly. He has the best hugs! That visit brought on their being married 3 months later on March 22! We had found them a wonderful church family when I was back there and with the help and encouragement of that congregation Alex and Hannah decided to tie the knot! So back I flew along with my mom and a family friend to witness the ceremony. It was held in a very nice park in the town where they live. And I firmly believe that the Lord blessed their union, as they are expecting a honeymoon baby, my first grandchild, on January 3rd, 2009!

Just days before I got the call from Alex regarding their wedding plans, my daughter's, Liz's, then boyfriend, Shelby, asked if he could "talk to me". So he did, and he asked for her hand in marriage. After a few questions and tears, I said yes. He then wanted to ask her little brother, Jon, and he said definetely. SO -the next day he popped the question to her during an "outing" to the coast, and of course she said YES! They really are suited to each other and he is what I have been praying for for my daughter. Well - the wedding was scheduled for December - okay that's good, gives us plenty of time for planning. But nooooo, they want to move it up, to May 26th, 2008! So we all kicked it into high gear, downsized a few things, which was just fine with the kids, and had us a beautiful backyard wedding. The weather even cooperated as the weekend before the wedding it was 103 degrees and the two days just prior to the ceremony it rained cats and dogs. But the wedding day arrived with cooler temperatures and a few clouds which the photographer said was perfect. And doesn't she look beautiful!

Okay, so that's my two oldest. On their way through life, making it or not, but doing what they are supposed to do. Getting their own lives...

My youngest, Jon, poor guy, is still stuck at home with mom. He turned 18 last month and just this past Wednesday, graduated from high school. He is planning on attending a nearby University and live at home to save money. He is currently working for a man from church who is training him to tend grapes. That's a big industry around here and the more field work he can learn the better off he'll be. He loves to work outside.

So - with all three of my kids at a jumping off point, I'm left looking at myself wondering "now what do I do?"
There are a few of you going back to school, and I've looked into that. My back yard is tree free and would make a great vegetable garden area, and that's an option. It's an interesting place in life to be and I'm kind of excited. There's no one to tell me "no you can't", or "what about me?", but there is only me and a lot women I know don't know how to do this phase of life...

So, I'll pray, think, ask questions, look into possibilities, and save up my money, cause after all I've got a grandbaby comin!!!
