God made me a Grandma. Hmm...after raising one so small for 9 months while Mom was away in the desert and Dad in training to become an instructor, it's time to pack up her bags and she'll go home now.
At our age it was difficult to take on a 24-7 job like this, we found out very quickly why God made parents much younger. But with the help of my husband I have been her Grandma, Mom, boo-boo kisser, disciplinarian, bath tub buddy, prayer teacher, book reader & play time pal.
I will miss her sweet little smiling face in the morning as well as the "hand on the hip, furrowed brow" stance she so often gets when she does not get her way. I'll miss the "Mamaw" calls in the middle of the night and of course those times she crawls up in my lap and grabs my face with both her little chubby hands and gives me a big kiss and hug. I know the time has come for her to be with mommy and daddy. She needs them as much as they need her. I'll be alright after a few "gee, did I hear her's" and "I wonder what she's getting into now's." And I can't do it without the many tears I will surely cry for a couple of days. And then I'll remember ...God made me a Grandma!!!
