As a child growing up in the south,we had a tradition.
Every year in the spring all the church with 20 miles of each other that was Bapitist would have what they called homecoming's with dinner on the ground.
There would be a gospel singingers there and they would sing all day long. stopping only for dinner at 12..
We always looked forward to it.We would see family from all over,we had family in mississppi that we only seen on these days.momma would fried up chicken, potato salad,
bread,Tea and a cake.we would go and have a good time.
If we had family buried there we would put flowers on thier graves.but being kids ,only Momma and Daddy went in church and we kids ran around and played..
This was a way of life for us kids.
