You will so rarely hear me complain about rain.
More often, the water inside me recognizes the water outside me and smiles a polite "hello."
Sometimes the torrents inside me recognize the torrents outside me and breathe a deep, gusty, "Oh my!"
Sometimes the dashing splashes inside me recognize the dancing splashes outside me and laugh a happy "hooray!"
And sometimes the urgent swells inside me see the urgent swells outside me as a storm is brewing but is not yet, and we recognize each other with a breathy, "Do come."
Today as I left work, the misty mantle of moisture inside me delighted to feel the misty mantle of moisture outside me and sighed a contented "thank you," for grace, for growth, for the gentle caress of water to minister to my soul at the end of the day. I am grateful.
