How often are we totally silent, doing absolutely nothing? Sometimes we need to just shove aside all those thoughts that ramble around in our heads, and feel the blood pump in our veins, hear the air move around us, see the textures of our surroundings. That's all, just feel, hear and see. Nothing more.

But those everyday, mundane, useless, trivial thoughts keep intruding, telling us we have an appointment, we must get busy, we must be doing something, anything, but doing something.

However, we ARE doing something. We are being in touch with who we are and where we are and how we are. That is certainly doing something.

It has been said that when you need to make a big decision, you should do something slow and rhythmic. It calms the mind and allows you to focus on the decision in a deep way. Perhaps even better when you must make that decision, is to sit and do absolutely nothing.....nothing but listen to rocks grow.
