In my last blog I mentioned that I was immersed in this new Theory of Compassion Development. Since then I have had the opportunity to present it to an audience and discuss it with peers. In addition it has been just rollin' 'round in my head reaching out in so many directions.
Eventually I came to see this theory as the foundation of a "tree" of work that I have been formualting for 3 decades. I have called this tree the Helping Relationship Tree. There is a diagram of it in on the website www.CompassionSpace.com.
I fully expect to be working on pruning, fertilizing, and picking fruit from this tree for the rest of my life. It will never be something that is finished. But I offer it to you in its current stage of growth and hope it contains some fruit that you may pick.
