Hi, my name is Rich Truesdell and I am the Editorial Director of Automotive Traveler, an online-only automotive travel lifestyle magazine. We believe that every drive is an adventure. You can take a look at our first issue by visiting:

When we started Automotive Traveler just over a year ago, it was our intent, and it remains, to produce a magazine and a companion web site that combines the travel elements of a magazine like Conde Nast Traveler, with the exciting automotive content of a magazine like Motor Trend or Top Gear. The balance we try to maintain, is 75% focused towards travel with 25% directed to the cars that make the drives special.

It's not another 0 to 60-focused automotive magazine or web site. Our trips are unique. In our first issue I participated in a drive with Ferrari in a $300,000 599 along the Inca Trail between Lima, Peru and Quito, Ecuador and along the way, shattered my wrist in a fall so I can speak first hand of medical facilities in third-world countries. Another feature outlines a wine tour in Bordeaux, where your transportation between wineries and points of interest was a 45-year-old Jaguar E-type roadster. How's that for a romantic getaway? And what about taking the family to Scottsdale for Spring Training next year? We give all you fans of the national past time all the information to help you plan a baseball themed spring break to remember.

Current content, posted right now on our web site, is my trip last month, from LA to Denver and back in the brand new 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8. But that's not all; on the way back from Denver we followed the route of Kowalski, from the 1971 cult classic film, Vanishing Point. It was truly a drive to remember through Colorado, Utah, and Nevada.

Cars and travel make a great pairing, especially for those 50-something baby boomers like me that now can own the cars we wished we did when we were in high school and college. I believe that there are few things in life as great as the right car, on the right road, the right companion navigating, with the right music coming from the car's radio. To me it's an intoxicating mix that is the best stress reducer I know.
