Hallelujah! I got a job!

I posted the long sad tale of my largely self-inflicted employment woes in my last blog entry, and complained that I was having a very hard time getting a part time job. Well, I finally found one -- and I passed the drug test and background check -- the drug test was a given since I haven't touched any illegal substaces in about 2 1/2 years, but the background check was not -- I had already been turned down for another job because I couldn't pass the credit check -- we have really sucky credit -- don't ask LOL -- anyway, thank God this store did not require a credit check and did not check to see if I had any record of theft (see my previous blog entry for an explanation of that).

So I start tomorrow (Tuesday) -- I have orientation all day and then I will most likely work part time approximately 4 nights per week. It's at a large retail store -- I will be keeping the merchadise stocked and in order and helping the customers find stuff -- I love to chat up strangers so that is no problem. I may actually like it -- it will get me off my fat butt and away from this computer, and force me to actually interact with real people instead of only cyber-people. LOL

The downside? I will be making slightly less per hour than my 16 year old son who works at a fast food restaurant. Oh well, at least it's not minimum wage -- and we will still be able to meet our expenses after my husband's overtime ends this summer.
