I know I will not find a lot of people who agree with me but I think unions are one of the biggest problem the United States has.In the beginning they were needed and helped the worker a lot,but even then their methods were not good.To be fair the companies methods were just as bad.But the unions did get established and did a lot of good for the American worker in the beginning. But that time is gone and the unions have way too much power and they are ruining the country.
Everyone is worrying about our jobs going overseas and are blaming big business for it. But I submit that it is a direct result of the unions asking for more and more and getting it until businesses can no longer compete.
Kansas has the right to work law and the unions have little power here but the big companies still cant open a plant here because the unions have a contract and they would have to honor it here too.
It is my opion that the unions are good for people who want something for nothing, much like welfare. Companies could operate on less employees if it wasnt for unions. Union employees get benefits that are unheard of here, and it may be good for them but not for the country as a whole. I believe you should work for what you get not just because you belong to the union.
I have not heard any dicussion of this on eons or anywhere else for that matter. This is why I'm a republican because they most closely match my philosophy. The democrats would like to have a welfare state but I dont.If we could break the power of the unions we could eventually get our jobs back.
