I remember walking along the River Walk in Augusta when my daughter lived there, thinking, "How beautiful"
Often river walks are actualy "creek walks". There seems to be new push in our state for another one along Crabtree creek. It's not a river, it's a creek.
I'm all for lovely walks.
That being said. I know something about the effects of overdevelopement, being overly ambitious, and how it effects others.
First, since Crabtree Mall, in Raleigh, was built they have experienced quite a few floods.
Okay, good idea (River Walk", but first, lets take care of the flood problem? You can't fix a problem with pretty flowers or afternoon walks.
The first house that my "EX" and bought was along a creek, sorry but it wasn't even important enough to get a name that I know of.

I will never forget the day that the rescue squad brought my neighbor across the street out of her home when the water rose to the upper level.
We need to look at all the possible scenarios of anything.
We are facing this in so many ways today. Look at how using corn as bio-fuel has affected global food prices.
Wisdom -- something that I seek daily, yet it always seems to be one step ahead!
