Well, I managed to get my bulbs, plants and some seeds in the ground before the winds came up and the rains came down. I have a lovely little spot that I call my 'circle garden' since it is sort of round and stands out from the rest of the yard. It is mostly shade with three maples and a small tree of unknown kind. There are two cedar trees on one side, but one of them must go. A path leads through the center and along side the path are pansies, pinks, foxglove and begonias as well as lots of azales and roddies. There is a bench at the end of the path and soon there will be a window hanging from a frame. Just for fun, it will be painted and have a window box below it. I reciently planted a pussy willow and a spira that sits just outside of the shade area. There is also a statue dedicated to Lady Joy and a piece of white glass on top of a post. I have a gazing ball to one side and little wind chimes in a few limbs of the trees. It is peaceful and I can sit and look into my labryinth right next to it. Come summer I will hang my hammock chair and the hammock and add a table or two. It is a perfect place to sit and watch the birds.
Speaking of birds..I found one of the nests that my Mrs Robin is building. They say robins build many nests until they find the place that is just right. I hope she fnds a better place than the one I saw her building today...it is out in the open on a limb of the great old oak and with the wind I was surpirized that it held on. She did well on her building and I will watch to see if she uses that one, or builds another in a more protected place.
